Wooden Shoe Books

I loved the vibe of this bookstore! The first sections when you walk in the door are "Anarchy" and "Feminism". And they had a fantastic selection of books. The whole store feels like a community, a place to learn and challenge norms. A tiny bookstore with big power.

I love coming here, despite not 100% being on board with anarchism. The store has an atmosphere of expected respect from both the patrons and volunteers, and I never feel silly asking questions. It’s a lovely community space, and it’s a great place to get difficult to find books. It’s also a great place to find gifts for your politically-minded friends.

An alt bookstore if such a thing exists. Most of their selection has some sort of political, social or artistic leaning in mostly progressive subjects. As the last bookstore on the block and the last one on my tour down south street, the brain drain was real. Not being a subject matter I'm well versed in I need the time and patience to peruse. I should've touched it out cause they probably have several useful books for our trying times.

This is a specialized book store for anarchism, social equality, and activism for justice. Also, politics of globe with social aspects. I am happy to find out on the street of South. Even i live in Philly for more than 6 years now. I just discovered this place as book lover.

One of the coolest bookshops I’ve seen! Extremely nice staff and a beautiful selection of books! If you’re in Philly I strongly recommend you check it out.

Great local bookshop with rare selections. Felt comforting to hear them ask unmasked folks to mask up (which they provided for free at the entrance). So nice to see the emphasis on mutual aid as well.

We had our 6th book signing at the Wooden Shoe Book shop. It was great...my wife sold lots of her books and we love the experience.
