This was our first visit to the Friends of the Library Book Nook, and we will absolutely be back! The bookstore is very well organized and has a great selection of books. There are two rooms, one for children's books and a larger room for adult books. It didn't feel crowded at all when we were there at midday on a Saturday. The books are organized by category and/or author. There's a little table set up in the children's room for kids to browse. The prices are excellent in my opinion! For example, adult hardcover books are $2 and children's hardcover books are $1 unless marked otherwise. Everything is in *gently* used condition - no sad looking books. The volunteers were helpful and friendly. It felt similar to a Half Price Books, though significantly smaller, and with much lower prices. You're also supporting a great cause when you shop here. 10/10 recommend!

Wonderful selection of used books and puzzles. They just moved into this new space today, so there's no more waiting outside to get in. Everything is so well organized in various categories, including children, young adult, fiction, biography, science, history, politics, cookbooks, large print, and so much more. If you find yourself holding an armful of books, no problem, take your books up to the counter, and they will assign a holding bin for you so you can go continue looking for more treasures.

This bookstore is a big fail. They’re only open on Saturdays. I had to wait to get inside, because they can only accommodate so many in their cramped space. Once you’re in, you just want to get out because it’s so small and uninviting. Prices are high, considering used books have almost zero value. Most mystifying, I can see their donations in the bin at my local branch, but I never see these titles at the store. Some of the incoming is really good, and I wouldn’t mind paying what they want for something special, but those books disappear. It was better when they were lent space at the Joco library branches for these retail operations. This is the way Olathe does it, and it’s much more natural. But either the library kicked them out or the Friends decided on this model. Seems they’re friends of the library, but it’s not mutual.

Great selection and can't beat the cheap prices.

One of my favorite places. I try to go about once a month to look over the wide variety of books that they have available. My advice is to go later in the afternoon because if you go near the opening time, it’s pretty crowded and you might have to wait, such a good problem though isn’t it? How many times have you had to wait to get into a place to buy a book? Everyone yeah, here is friendly and a pleasure to converse with while you’re waiting and then while you’re browsing. You can’t beat the prices and you can’t beat thecause that your money goes towards so it’s a wonderful bookstore.
