Wonderful experience at Sister’s Uptown Bookstore! As soon as I walked in, Jennifer greeted me and gave me a tour of the space. They have a great collection of books, products from local artisans, and an incredible willingness to help. Excited to jump into my new copy of a biography of Harry Belafonte! Thank you, Jennifer & Sister’s Uptown Bookstore.

What a lovely store! Ms. Wilson, the store owner, was so sweet and charming. The energy she radiated was palpable. She’s a reason alone to come and visit this bookstore. Outside of the awesome and welcoming owner, there’s also a good selection of books. My personal favorite part of the store was all the African art on sale. I badly wanted the round mask in the picture, but didn’t have room in my suitcase for it! Can’t wait to visit this gem again.

A local institution!! Everyone must read. If you don't pick up a book, if you don't inform yourself, if you don't pass along a love of learning we are doomed as a society and culture. Buy a book, support a community, educate yourself!

A vibrant and cozy bookstore located in the popular neighborhood of Harlem in NYC. They have a diverse selection of education and cultural books to increase your IQ 20-fold. I bought a kids novel for my son on Muhammad Ali (from this bookstore) called Becoming Muhammad Ali. He loved the book, and I like the bookstore. Additionally, the staff there are knowledgeable, courteous, and deliver top-notch customer service. I highly recommend you check them out. I give them 11/10, easily‼️

What a beautiful community bookstore! The owner, who’s name is pronounced JAN-i-fer (not sure how she spells it) is such a LIGHT. I opened up to her about my small business idea and she was so supportive and willing to use her bookstore space to promote my product. Such an Angel! She also has a variety of free books to choose from. I will definitely be coming back!
