Visiting Barnes & Noble in downtown Naperville feels like stepping into a book lover’s dream right in the heart of town. The store, which reopened in a newly redesigned space at 9 Jackson Ave in 2025, carries a welcoming, cozy vibe with well-organized shelves full of both bestsellers and hidden gems across genres; there’s definitely something for everyone from novels and children’s books to games and gifts. As you walk in, you notice thoughtful touches like comfortable reading nooks and clear signage that make browsing easy, and local patrons often point out that it’s now a favorite community gathering spot again after its return. While it doesn’t always have the huge crowds seen at flagship bookstores, the atmosphere is relaxed, staff seem friendly and knowledgeable, and regular events like author signings and book club meetups give it a lively, engaging feel. A coffee or snack in the café corner makes for a perfect afternoon break, turning a simple browse into a mini escape... ideal whether you’re hunting for your next great read or just enjoying a peaceful moment away from the bustle of downtown Naperville.

I checked out the New Grand Opening of Barnes & Noble @ 9 Jackson, Suite 111 in Naperville. The new store is nice, but could be difficult to enter for wheelchair bound customers, unless there is a back entrance somewhere? This location does not have its own parking lot. Do NOT use the small parking lot right beside the store, it belongs to another business and you will be towed. A half a block down the street on Jackson there is a free parking lot on both sides of the road. The lots are normally packed and it's a hit or miss to find a spot. (But let's be honest, parking in downtown Naperville is a nightmare even on a good day) The new store is set up nicely with lots of great picks. Upstairs is the young adult, children's, puzzles, toys and games, and (cook books)...a weird place to find those. If you have a stroller, or are physically impaired there is an elevator all the way to the back of the store on your right. Nice store employees. All in all this is a nice store on the river walk and should be a popular destination due to its walking location. Check their website for hours of operation.

Went here for the first time after the old location closed down (sadly) I know they were trying to go for an indie bookstore vibe which to be honest, I wasn’t really feeling because it was still two stories. There was definitely a smaller selection of books though compared to the old location. Everything was clean and organized, staff were nice and prices are good especially with the sale. There’s no Starbucks in this location for anyone curious

I love this Barnes & Noble. Everything was easy to find and it was also easy to explore new genres and get good recommendations as well! There’s parking right outside the building as well as a two minute walk down the road. It was so nice and quiet and such a pretty store everything was set up so organized and nicely. I really enjoyed my time looking around at new titles and different genres. They had a great horror selection, which is my favorite! And an even better thriller section, which is my other favorite! I really enjoyed visiting this Barnes & Noble and I will definitely be back!

New location. Other location was bigger but this one has a sense of coziness to it with the smaller space. Staff is friendly and helpful and each section of the store is clearly marked. Also The bathroom code is 1-3-5-7-9.

Compactly arranged in an artful manner, I appreciated this revamped downtown Naperville B&N. Great spot to take kids shopping with their holiday gift card, as games, books, and toys arranged themselves nicely in the lower traffic second story. Helpful staff as well!

I usually go to this Barnes and Noble and have never had a bad experience until today. I went looking for an album that said it was in stock in the app. I approached the cashier who was very nice and attempted to help me locate them item. She radioed to check if it was in the back and we were approached by another staff member that was very rude. He was an older gentleman. He told both her and me that the website is connected to a server over 100 miles away and does not know what is in stock. He did not look at me or acknowledge me but continued speaking only to the cashier in a very demeaning tone. This experience was extremely off putting considering that we both young women.
