Givens Books & Little Dickens

This wonderful, child-friendly store combines thoughtfully curated toys, a fantastic children’s book selection, and great coffee all in one welcoming space. The toys encourage imagination and creative play, and the book selection is excellent for kids of all ages. The coffee is delicious and makes it a perfect spot for parents to relax while kids explore. What truly sets Givens Books apart, though, is the staff — friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. They’re amazing with children and always happy to offer thoughtful recommendations. Givens Books is more than a store; it’s a warm, welcoming place for families. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing and a must see if you are visiting Lynchburg. Very friendly staff, great coffee, interesting space and atmosphere with a wide variety of products!

Such a gem!!! This bookstore has everything! New, used, games, coffee shop, treats, fun gifts, etc. You could spend all day here! They have cozy places to read or meet. So much fun!!!

Awesome customer service. They went above and beyond to help me with my selection of books. Fast turn-a-round for books ordered. Very bright and welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of parking. I will certainly visit again and spend some time browsing. So much to see. Great place for children to learn to love books. Handicap accessible. I would definitely recommend others to stop and shop.

Beautiful bookstore- it looks small but it is very large inside! It has a whole section for teachers or homeschoolers. It’s just like a Barnes and Noble but better. I think their toy selection tends to cater more toward puzzles and mental exercise and art rather than just landfill stuff. Great selection on books and a little cafe in the back service espresso.

Had no Dvd’s or Bluray, low inventory on manga and there used selection is limited. However this is a perfect store from elementary to early highschool! Vast abundance of toys and books in that age gap! Consider it a more kid-friendly local Barnes and Nobel!

We have been coming to Givens for years and have spent a small fortune here on both new and used books. We always find something new to read and if they don't have something in stock, they are always able to order it for us. We have sold books here too and are grateful to have a place with such a great selection of used books.
