Book Stan

Book Stan is an excellent board game store that hearkens back to the board game stores of old: densely stocked with knowledgeable staff. Many board game stores I encounter in my travels are poorly or sparsely stocked with games of different types, or primarily Warhammer or Magic/Pokémon. While Book Stan does absolutely have Warhammer and Magic/Pokémon, it has a substantial catalog of other games. If you're in the area or passing through, I would recommend you stop by and see what it has to offer you, as it will definitely have something to interest you.

Looks like my quest continued today!! I found this 43 year old comic shop that is an institution!! The owner Stan is very knowledgeable about all things comics and gaming!! Outstanding selection of current issues with many variants!! Great back issue section where I found 7 Holographic comic covers in spectacular shape!! This is a must stop comic shop if you are in the area or visiting!! Keep reading and collecting nerds!!

Been coming here for a while as I’ve wanted to support my LGS but no longer. The owner just doesn’t know how to give good customer support. The majority of the time when I call with stock questions he comes across annoyed and acts like I’ve inconvenienced him. I end the call bewildered and disappointed in my interaction with him and hoping the next time I call will go better. It doesn’t. Going to the store itself is also very uncomfortable as you’ll be watched closely much of the time. I understand you have to protect your product but there has to be a happy medium. I honestly feel like I’m a POI as soon as I walk in and don’t want to spend anymore time there than is necessary. It’s a shame considering all the money I’ve spent.

Very friendly atmosphere, if your a collector or a person that plays TCGs and table top games this is a good place to check out.

I remember buying my first pack of Pokémon cards as a kid back in 98'... I'm almost 40 now and still shop here! Great customer service, knowledgeable employees, and a staple in Killeen.

Been here quite a few times and have came to the conclusion that I won't be spending any hard earned money here. Overpriced ratios and the shop runner is rude and apparently doesn't like to answer any questions about the products he's trying to sale. Would recommend going to America's Heros Comics instead. Much better service there.

Knowledgeable and helpful staff, reasonable prices with a large product selection
