New Material Books

My favorite bookshop in the Midwest! It’s in such a cool space, there’s a great selection, and I always find something new. I also love going to the poetry readings and art talks. Hannah and Brandan have curated a beautiful space, a fine selection of books, and a great community spot to share and experience art. I live in Washington, and New Material Book is at the top of my must-dos when I’m in KC. When I can’t make it in person, I love to shop online through their website.

Came for the Kansas City book store crawl, and this store was great. I loved their curated selection. I bought one book, but I definitely need to come back and ask for recommendations next time. Always looking to expand my reading

A special place in Kansas City for readers and writers. The owners do a beautiful job curating the work of local poets and they host regular intimate readings. It's a gift to have this establishment locally.

A unique bookstore featuring small press books, art books, and international books. They also host poetry readings, run free poetry workshops, and facilitate collective book-generation projects. Friendly people, stop by and say hi.
