Bright Side Bookshop

A fun shop to stroll and look for a book or a book-novelty. Staff were friendly and prices matched the quality of the merchandise. It’s small but had alot of option and several copies of the featured books. Small magazine section. VictorB

Found this cute bookstore while walking around downtown with my kids. They have a good children’s section and a wide variety of books overall. The staff is really nice and there are recommendations throughout the store. They have stickers, socks, journals, and some other fun items around the store.

Bright Side was the first place in Flagstaff that I kept wanting to come back to again and again. The great book selection of all sorts of genres, the incredible events that cultivate a great community space, and all the fantastic authors that hold events all add up to one of the staples of our mountain town! If you're a book lover, make sure you add Bright Side to your itinerary - this is a must-visit for all my out of town guests.

Today was busy due to the time of year. We love this local shop with its most excellent service. We love the selection of books as well as stickers, crafts, art and more. You need to know going in that you'll pay full price for the books, though it is wonderful to support local.

Every time I go to Flagstaff, I come to this bookshop to buy a book and support their business. They’ve always been so helpful and kind. The bookshop has a unique section with recommendations throughout the shelves. They are very dog-friendly with bowls set up by the door and loved saying hi to my pup. 10/10 recommend!

Such a wonderful bookshop! There is something for everyone here: kids, educational, fiction of all types, puzzles, games, gifts, tarot, and more! There’s even an indigenous literature section. Plus, there are staff recommendations all over the store and the staff is so friendly. We are definitely making this a regular stop whenever we visit Flagstaff.

Such a charming bookstore, but a couple years ago I overheard a staff bragging to another staff "I never read books by men anymore". People can do what they want but this was a disgustingly sexist comment to make within earshot of a customer. I also noticed I've been there a few times over the years and never seen a male staff working there nor any staff book recommendations by one. This sexism I experienced from the staff has haunted me since. Further, it's lead me to not want to buy books by women because it makes it hard to trust those books are as good in an industry blatantly biased against men. This isn't a view I ever held or thought of before.
