Barnes & Noble Store 2714 in Champaign, IL. On Feb 22, 2026 about 2:18pm, I had two books in my hand & tried to buy a large coffee. She asked if I wanted cream & I said sure! I would love some half-n-half please. Got my phone number typed in for my membership, and oopsie, my Premium PAID membership expired last week! But then, no joke, she tried to CHARGE ME almost a dollar for some freakin half-n-half coffee creamer!!!!! Ummm no thanks, cancel the order, NO i definitely do NOT want to reinstate my Premium membership because I am just speechless that Baenes & Noble has stooped to this level of PETTY, to actually charge someone for half-n-half coffee creamer. I tossed the two books I WAS gonna buy, in the magazine section rack somewhere as I walked out. Enjoy your petty business model Barnes & Noble. I can shop online just as easy. I should've stayed home. I can access Amazon booksellers anywhere!

They are slightly more expensive than buying at other stores online. But I love supporting local businesses, and the smell of books, as well being able to touch a volume before buying, is still an experience that I believe it’s worth paying the price. Awesome variety, and well decorated store with a Starbucks inside. Love going there!

I had to make an exchange that ended up being more of a pain than I hoped due to my own mistakes. I didn’t have a receipt, the original payment method and the original purchase was not in my account for some reason so they couldn’t really find proof of purchase. On top of that, I purchased some other items on top of my exchange and my gift card wasn’t working (again to my lack of activating it.) Through this entire process, the 2 workers who helped with my exchange were so patient and nice while I figured my payment methods out. I wish I caught their names but just know this barnes has some great employees who are very patient and helpful! I appreciate it!

Lovely selection of book-worm accessories, cards, notebooks, and journals. Plenty of stock on the shelves. The book selection appeared to focus on current best-sellers list items so I didn't find the books I was looking for, but if I was searching for a chart-topper in any genre I bet they would have it. It was very busy while I was there, but their checkout counters were all open and the line moved quickly.

I love books and this is a great place to buy them. Staff is super helpful and willing to look stuff up for you. They have physical Media in DVD blu Ray and CDs as well as games and toys as well

I was anticipating Barnes & Noble to be a diverse and welcoming place. Unfortunately, this is not the case at the Champaign location. There is a problematic employee who works in the cafe that is very prejudice. She has inappropriately commented on women’s appearances, will not address people by their preferred pronouns or preferred names, has made unhoused people uncomfortable, and will make an emphasis on person’s race. I am disappointed that this corporation allows this behavior. I will not be returning to Barnes & Noble nor will I recommend this store to anyone.

Barnes and Noble always makes me laugh. And feel a little fear. And want a mocha.
