Lovely little book store with a great diversity of books! The owner Lawrence was very kind. I hope to stop back by when I have more time.

Awesome book store! Mr Larry offers books for the entire family, Men, women and children....he has a wide selection of material for everyone's interest. Books, videos, jewelry, body care, shoes, African fabric, clothing etc. I was really impressed to see his collection of African artifacts. If you are wanting to learn more about who you are and our culture, please stop by La Unique, you will not be disappointed! He also has the capability of ordering books that may not be in the store, and for those that have family members that are incarcerated, Mr Larry can send books through the prison system.

It's a decent bookstore, but I would expect to see more facets of the African Diaspora and our varied intellectual points of view reflected in such a space. The reading material runs along very conservative lines and many stories of black leadership and innovation are missing from the shelves here.

I had a great time going thru the collection of books ,I bought a few to take home with me. Young and old black authors are featured on the bookshelves, the store is neat and quaint. The owner was knowledgeable and friendly. The store also has a museum and art gallery , I plan on returnin to see.

I wish I had more time here. The bookstore is small, but packed with choices. The owner is knowledgeable about his stock, if you are struggling with what to choose. It is easily accessible from public transit.
