Parkside Bookshop

Fantastic staff, great recommendations, and terrific engagement with the community! Learned how to play Mah Jong at a workshop they hosted and can't wait for the next one! Excellent book and gift selection!

More than a bookshop, Parkside has quickly emerged as a top Boston gift destination for me! Think of this as a great all-purpose bookshop that has curated the best of many genres in a compact space. Particularly of note is the cookbook section and many gift-able books. In addition to books, they have a wonderful selection of high quality small gifts and stationery. Think crafting kits, a cool stamp set, candles in beautiful ceramics, and the like. They also carry what I think might be one of the best card selections in Boston, featuring obscure artist-made brands I haven’t seen elsewhere. I find myself picking up a card every time I visit even though my card collection is overflowing. As a bonus, their owner is lovely and they currently run book clubs at least monthly (see photos). Support this local, woman-owned gem!

Great new bookstore in the South End! Has a bit of everything, from children’s books to vinyl! Stopped by for the sidewalk sale this weekend.

Getting to have a wonderful conversation on books with the woman working this afternoon was a highlight of my day. Absolutely adorable place, and awesome staff! Great staff-curated recommended books wall too.
