The Novel Ecxhange

A cozy nook of a book store, and a true gem in downtown Bismarck. If you have not popped in for a peek, you should. The owner is kind, friendly & encourages book browsing, offering a comfy area to read. Lots of unique used books, in excellent shape, and even some free options. There are, of course, new reads as well. She also offers a few cute nickknacks to add to your personal library.

So glad to have this cozy, charming bookstore in town! The prices are great. I love how it’s mostly used books (adult & children’s) but has new books highlighting ND authors, as well as cute bookish gifts. Make sure to follow them on Facebook, where they highlight new trades and you can claim books simply by leaving a comment!

I stopped in today with my almost 2 year old son. He loved it! The books are so affordable that he was able to pick out 3 or 4 board books for less than 3 dollars!! I will always come here before buying from anywhere else. Shopping local small businesses is the way to go!

I was visiting family locally and we are from California. E we love going to used . Novel is fantastic. Super nice owner. We walked out with a stack of books for under $10.00. So fun. Kids books, novels, spiritual classics. I can’t wait to come back on subsequent trips.

This is hands down one of the best stores in Bismarck! I stop in almost weekly and always find some treasures! The owner is wonderful and I always enjoying chatting with her!

What a gem of a store—and an even greater owner! She even had a book I randomly thought of and asked about while I was there. The prices were surprisingly good; I expected to pay so much more. Highly recommend checking it out!

Found the book I was looking for! Such a delightful shop. I’ll return just to enjoy the ambiance and conversation with the friendly owner.
