Eastwind Books of Berkeley

Had a book event here and had an AMAZING time. The store is so well thought out for the Asian American community with a lot of historical and contemporary books, fiction, academic, all kinds of needs. The store owners Harvey and Bea are so sweet and knowledgeable and Cheryl was a bursting ray of sunshine in her enthusiasm in helping us with the event. It’s so central in Berkeley, and hosts a ton of cool author events and participates in the Bay Area Book Fest and others. Must go for folks in East Bay!

I never bought anything from here, but I passed by this store almost everyday and they always hav interesting books on display. I was also told by a professor of asian American studies at UC Berkeley this is a legendary book store which was part of the movement back then!

This bookstore will always have a special place in my heart. When I was in undergrad at Berkeley, I would always visit this bookstore whenever I was having a hard time in my Political Science classes. This bookstore helped me learn more about my identity, the importance of preserving my own culture and language, and most of all the importance of being able to share our communities stories of resilience and trauma. Thank you, Eastwind Books of Berkeley- for your vision of what the future can look like. Thank you for helping inspire young Asian-Americans like myself! So yes! I HIGHLY recommend you check out this bookstore whenever you're in the area! Its magical✨❤️

Walked by Eastwind Books Store today and thought i would pop in quickly and ask about the some Grace Lin books I have been looking for. Was warmly welcomed in and shown where i could find the series of books. There was one missing so they offered to order with free shipping. Their customer service was amazing and their store is so cute. Can’t wait wait to go back.

Nice boutique book shop with a good selection of Asian-American books. I was here for a poetry reading and they were very accommodating to the attendees and the guest speakers. The staff is very open and resourceful as well if you wanted to promote your own books and do readings not just at the store, but around the area as well. I'd recommend checking this shop out if you're in the area.

I was there for a book signing. It was excellent! The speakers were brilliant, the store is nice and clean, and the books are a reasonable price. A great place for readers!
