Salon Mia Bella

This review is long overdue, about two years, actually. I came in for a peekaboo hair dye and haircut. The stylist who bleached my hair seemed unsure and kept checking in with other staff members. Two other stylists stopped by, looked concerned, and suggested leaving the bleach on longer. After almost two hours, the bleach was rinsed out, and the stylist completed the dye and cut. At first glance, it looked okay, though it didn’t feel worth the $500 total. I still tipped generously because the stylist seemed nervous and unsupported. When I got home, I noticed the bleached sections were extremely brittle — some strands broke or crumbled in my hands. After the first wash, chunks began to fall out, and over the next few weeks, most of the bleached hair broke off completely. I waited a long time to write this because I’ve had great experiences at this same salon before, which made this outcome especially disappointing. I wanted to share my experience for others, especially women with darker hair, to be aware that bleaching can be risky. I understand dark hair can be more difficult to lift safely, but as professionals, I wish someone had been upfront about the limitations or advised against going so light.

This is a new find and Karen is just wonderful. She knew exactly what to do with my fine thick hair. Styled beautifully. Taught me a few tricks. She encouraged me to use her or her sisters when i need an appointment. Delighted. Will be back. Thanks ladies!

I love the stylists here and have been going to them for years, following them to where ever they move. Especially Karen and Janet. They cut my hair exactly how I want it and are always great with suggestions to enhance your look.

Would no longer recommend coming here. Was a long time customer here ( around 8 yrs), and within the past 2 yrs, started not really getting the haircut I was asking for. I kept coming because I had been coming here for awhile, and hoping that maybe it was a one off. Well my last visit I realized would be my very last time. I came in and decided to bring a picture of what I wanted, since maybe I wasn't communicating what I wanted very clearly? Well, the cut I got was absolutely nothing to the picture I brought in, and it was a lot shorter than what I had asked for. Not only was I told it was the same cut...a family member that works there was also asked to verify that the cut I was given was the same as in the picture. Of course they're going to side with family. I felt like complete shit. There we're other things in the conversation that I did not like, which I won't go into detail about, but after paying ( which to be fair, she did say I didn't have to pay if I wasn't happy, but I did because she still cut my hair, fair is fair). As I was paying I got the impression she was pissed off with me. Why would you be pissed off? I'm the one who wasn't happy, and you still got paid. Either way, my hair is still growing out, and is really bushy in the back. I took pictures when I got home, just to have. Either way, haircuts may start off great, but eventually that goes downhill, along with service. Keep that in mind when coming here.

It was my first time at the salon and I had a great experience! Jennifer was my stylist and she did a great job with my highlights. She was very knowledgeable and explained each step with me so I knew what she was doing and putting into my hair. She also gave me some tips and suggestions on how to take care of my hair, in order to maintain the color. I definitely would go back again for a touch up and cut next time!

I've been coming to Salon Mia Bella for a couple years now, and they've always done great work. I've gotten to experience several of their stylists and each time I've come away happy and looking good. I've even had my hair colored - a bit of "Chromatic Enhancement" with some vivid purple in my otherwise white hair - and the results were great and not over-priced. My wife and all three daughters have been getting their hair done here as well, and the results range from Great to Spectacular. Can't go wrong. The -only- possible down side is that parking can be a little limited, but at the worst you have to park half a block away and walk over.

During my 7-day-visit to the Bay Area, my hair needed a good wash and blow-dry, and so I found them near my hotel and I'm more than happy to write about the wonderful service I received here. My stylist was super friendly, not only she made my hair look like a celebrity’s but also she informed me about the neighborhoods I could go visit. I highly recommend this Salon, top-class services, clean well-managed facilities, and exceptional staff. Parking- This salon has ample parking space.
