Great first experience. The owner wasn’t busy, and fit me right in for a last minute haircut. She was very patient when I had to interrupt for a work call. Love the haircut, and the style! Great environment, cute shop with just. A few chairs!

I’ve been going to her salon for almost two years now. I’m Asian so coloring my black hair to light blonde can be challenging. But she did a good job at keeping my hair healthy and getting the color I want. I think she’s been doing the hair service for more than 20+ years now.

So I had a bunch of different layers of bleach from previous dye styles, and was told I had lost pigment in my hair. I thought it would be almost impossible for me to get my hair to be none blond/orange (bleach that had been washed over and over), but when I walked in and scheduled an appointment for the next day, I got a completely new style that really gave me confidence!

Ratha is so amazing. She’s the hair stylist of my dreams and I’m so happy to have finally found her!! She works really hard and is so detailed. Easy going and also voices her opinions on the best approach. I trust her!! She did a rose color balayage the first time I saw her and today she did the coolest ice pastel purple and pink balayage and it’s hands down my most favorite! I had huge smiles all day. Ratha is the best stylist I have ever had. I was unable to locate a single photo of what I wanted so I showed her 3 & she is the only person who was able to envision what I was looking for and made it happen. I have struggled for years to find someone who can work with my thick long black hair and she was absolutely amazing. I felt so beautiful after my cut & dye. It took a long time, but it was expected with the amount of hair to work with. Thank you Ratha for the wonderful stories and experience! Highly recommended to treat yourself here! Best place to get your hair cut in Portland. I’ve been to many places in the area and nothing beats Urban Aspara! I have thick hair and I always get it thinned a lot - comes out perfect each time! Just like how I get my hair cut in Korea or Japan.

I was looking to change up my look and Ratha did an amazing job! I showed her a few reference images, told her what I was aiming for, and she gave me a beautiful A-line bob with colored highlights. I love it! The space is bright, clean, and welcoming. Online scheduling was a breeze and Ratha was super accommodating even though I forgot to book extra time for bleaching. I have been searching for someone comfortable and skilled in working with asian hair and I'm so glad to have found Urban Apsara! Will definitely be back!
