French Cut Hair

Monica is an artist! I came to her with having little idea of what I wanted but knew I needed something new and to take some length off. She took my input and immediately knew what she was going to do. The result was a fresh beautiful cut that complements my face and natural features of my hair. I’ve never felt so good about leaving an appointment! Will definitely be coming back to her from now on. Thank you, Monica!

I'd give more stars if they let me! After a series of bad to awful cuts in (sorry) Eugene, I was in despair of ever having nice, even boring, hair again. I decided to look farther afield and came across French Cut Hair. Monica absolutely nailed a look that's suited for my face shape, suited for my thick, dense hair, and best of all, is pretty much the cutest cut I've ever had. Note that I've been getting professional cuts for over forty years! Well worth the drive! Thank you Monica!

I had the pleasure of receiving a lovely haircut from Monica on the 4th of July. She did a wonderful job of asking me questions to understand what I was looking for and sharing her professional opinions about what would work best. I'm very happy with my haircut and I'm grateful that I listened to her feedback instead of stubbornly sticking to the fact that "layers would give my hair extra volume." She has a vision and it's clear that she understands how to emphasize the natural fall of our hair. I also love the decor of the salon and had a lovely time chatting with her. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a fabulous cut!

I love this place. The vibe, the scenery, the people it's all great! I ONLY come here. After my hair cut or dying process is over with Tim. I just walk around downtown and grab a drink. They are also located in a great place in Portland where you have bars and shops and out to eat places. Love plants? Great! A whole plant store is just right next door. Sweetest lady EVER! She will also give you a deal at her store just because you went next door. So if you get your hair done make sure you also go next door for a visit. This is just all over convenient! Make an appointment and ask for Tim. Super nice, also has hair down to the middle of his back so you already know he's trustworthy haha. Enjoy your visit, let him know I sent you!!!!!

Sonia was amazing! Sonia transformed my waist length boxed dyed patchy brown hair to a wonderful blonde balayage. This was my first good experience at any salon and I will be going back. *Photos after a long hot car ride/the styling she did was better than in these photos.

If you want someone to be real with you about your hair, see Monica. She knew what I was after, even though it wasn’t a specific cut (in my case, wanted to feel more stylish after five years of being a mom and neglecting myself). She is a confident enough stylist that she can lead the way, but she still listens to what you want. Her way of cutting hair was unique and the cut I have now is so versatile, I feel like I have a lot of options with what I can do and I’m excited to play with it. Finally! Thanks Monica 🙏

Had a great experience with J Marie and was really happy with my haircut. I’m very detail oriented and picky with my hair. I was impressed not to find any flaws in my cut. Went to numerous hairstylists in the past and none came close to J Marie, she is a true artist! It is not difficult finding a good cut anymore!!!
