My recent visit to this salon for hair color and a haircut was a huge fail, which will likely take a couple years to correct. I decided to check the place out because of all positive reviews it received from Hanna’s loyal customers and its’ very convenient location. Hanna indeed appeared friendly and worked fast, but the result was extremely underwhelming. I only realised what haircut I got after leaving the salon and looking closer at her "work" after washing my hair. I asked her to cut my hair slightly below my shoulders without layers. Instead, she gave me the most poorly executed shaggy cut one can imagine, with some asymmetric strands 3-4 in long. Since she cut my hair so short and asymmetrical in some places, I’ll have to wait for a long time before attempting correcting this disastrous haircut. I keep thinking she did it intentionally, after listening to my request-very evil and hypocritical. Otherwise, why would someone go against customer’s request? Sadly, I did not anticipate such low quality work and unflattering results from someone with experience. I can fully relate to the earlier one star reviews, unfortunately. Avoid this place.

No stylist has ever succeeded in blowing out my thick, tight curly hair like Hanna. In about 15 minutes, Hanna washes my medium length hair, and blows it out, roots to ends, into a smooth, sleek look. Hanna is AMAZING !

Hanna is wonderful! Always gives great service, patient, listened to what you want and doesn’t push anything. The atmosphere is always light and nice and I really enjoy coming to her salon.

I had the pleasure of working with Hanna for the first time today. While I was making the haircut appointment, I shared my concern with Hanna: Being 8 months pregnant, I would very much like to avoid being exposed to the smell of chemicals. Hanna was beyond accommodating, to the extent that she opened the salon early and opened all the windows and doors just so that I could have peace of mind. Upon meeting Hanna, I was immediately impressed by her experience, friendliness, and efficiency (yet very professional) throughout the process. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I highly recommend "Hair by Hanna" to everyone.

I decided to try Hair by Hanna based on online reviews and am very happy that I did. Her haircuts have been the best I've had for a long time. She also provided excellent instruction on blow-out technique as she worked. Based on my experience, my husband has switched to Hanna for his own cuts and is glad that he did.

I have been coming to Hanna since I ruined my color doing it myself years ago. She not only saved my hair disaster, she has been the best colorist and stylist I ever had. I’ve moved to Cape Cod over 3 years ago and will continue to make the trek to West Newton to have her do my hair as long as Hanna is here!!
