oh my gosh!!!! Where do I begin???? JLK Salon is magic!!! I saw stylist Emma Manea and she was FANTASTIC!!! The second I walked into the salon, I felt at home and at ease. My journey from virgin dark brown hair to a vibrant, cherry cola red would not be possible without Emma. I got my first round of highlights done in June and was amazed with how they turned out. Emma took the time to sit down with me and talk about what I wanted so we could truly nail the look. She offered wonderful insight, and I truly felt seen as a client. She is the most respectful, talented, intuitive and kindest stylist you will ever meet. I truly felt at home when I walked into the salon. The first round of highlights came out beautifully and faded to a nice caramel brown. A few days ago, I decided to go in for a retouch. Emma had found the perfect cherry cola red color and I instantly knew I needed more. When I stepped into the salon, I was greeted by beautiful smiling faces and offered tea. Emma and I chatted and we decided to go for a brighter color and more highlights throughout. I have never been happier with my hair and my hair has never been healthier. She knows exactly what every person who sits in her chair needs. Emma is a magician. My hair would not be as gorgeous, soft and healthy if it was not for her. I will not be going anywhere EVER!!! Please please please go to JLK Salon for all of your hair needs and pay Emma a visit! Every penny I spent on my hair was 100% worth it. Not only is she talented, but she is the sweetest and most radiant stylist there is. Highlights can be a long process, but it felt fun, fresh and effortless with Emma. I recommend her time and time again!

Horrible experience: The AFTER photos (posted) look worse than my hair before and speak for themselves Unfortunately Emma was the stylist, she looked at my photos confirmed she could easily do the task of simply blending my root growth to new babylights with a few lowlights in between. I asked if I needed my base color (single process) done with this or a root tap she said NO multiple times. I asked how it would get rid of the root color she assured me she "had very heavy hand when highlighting". I've had my hair done by the top stylists in LA/UK and never had an issue I get nonstop compliments - I confirmed what the result would be and was hopeful what she said was true although in 20 years of having my hair done this made no sense. She said she was very good and would never do the "zebra effect" proceeding to make fun of other clients who like this look - very unprofessional. She did exactly that see the photos for easily the worst "blended baby lights" with no toning (which I paid for). Didn’t touch most of my head, assured me I wouldn’t see any of my roots at all. She then left me with the cleaning assistant who confirmed she is not a licensed hair stylist and left me there the rest of the time to tend to another client. She also said she was very bad at taking foils out (who says that?!) she ripped my hair out on the back from about 10 inches to 2 she didn't come when the alarm was set and kept sending the cleaning lady or no one at all. She refused to do a proper rough dry and seemed to be in a hurry to leave work so she only did my bangs I asked to see the rest of the color as I was sure it was bad as I could already see it when wet. She did a couple of strands and kept rushing me out. I was sick of the bad service and knew she had no idea what she was doing - to top it off she only did random parts of my head now that it's dry and I can see it (see photos) and the owner tried to charge me for more services since they were not communicating well when I paid they didn't let me see the amount or sign the pad when I asked... I looked at my bank statement and it said they had overcharged me not only for extra but an extra 5.25 - upon asking for. them to immediately correct this the owner TEXT me that this was normal and it was a regular charge (not authorized or agreed to not even mentioned to me pay your own fees) and the stylist who was incredibly immature and a let down sent me a message as well laughing it off saying they couldn't refund the overcharge but they would apply it to my next visit - so, fraud. Terribly run salon I had 4 confirmations prior to coming in - unnecessary and I should've taken this and the bad coordination upon arrival between them as a sign that this was a bad idea. Reported to the bank and BBB with proof - there would never be another appointment - clearly. What a waste of time. I went to a new salon which is very professional and high end they confirmed how bad the botched job was and that in fact what I was promised was not done to my hair and they did it well and quickly - you can see it clearly in photos. Nightmare salon. I wish I never went, lesson learned - left way worse than I could've imagined and was so excited to get fresh hair for the holidays. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

Emma is a wonderful stylist and always delivers stunning and perfect work. She always caters to my needs and understands what I want to work with. When I couldn’t decide how dark I wanted to go with my varnish, she handed me the color book and sat with me to pick the perfect color. She is attentive to detail and truly perfects her craft. She is friendly, talkative, kind, sensitive, and makes the effort to get to know her clients on a deeper level and to make them satisfied. I have brought my sister to see Emma and she has done wonderful work on my sister’s hair. Emma is extremely talented and works very hard and I highly recommend her!

I went in for a hair touch up and she did a great job. My color changed to a reddish brown from dark brown which I did not consider a big deal. She was very professional and sweet. What I did not like was that I went in absolute cold weather and just wanted a rough dry. The price of touch up was 65 as on Emma Instagram and just for a rough dry I was charged a total of $ 100 by the salon owner. As a courtesy, I should have been told that I will have to pay $35 extra not to walk out with wet hair in -10 degrees. I have been to the salon earlier with nicole and I was charged $ 65. It did left me with a bit of a bad feeling. The salons should at least advise the customer. I do not like to be taken for granted. The heating of the salon was very low and sitting in the salon was uncomfortable and cold. It's a very clean salon but lacks empathy and sensitivity.

I am so glad that I found Karen and JLK salon. Everyone at the salon is friendly and attentive — and Karen is so talented. She really listened to what I wanted and needed from my cut and it turned out perfectly. I have a lot of long, wavy hair and it falls beautifully around my shoulders and down my back after Karen cut it. A top-notch cut at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend! ✨

Had a great blow out from Summer! I have thick curly hair and she worked beautifully to give me a sleek flowing blow out. I’m quite fussy and I love it! The salon is very nice - clean and fresh feeling and everyone I talked to was lovely. I’ll definitely be back!

I hate speaking ill of others but I cannot recommend this salon or the stylist I saw, Emma M. I came here in search of a new "home" salon as I am new to the area. I have long straight hair, and my preferred haircut consists of angles, layers and curtain bangs. Emma had good reviews and energy however she cut my hair unevenly twice. My first visit, I thought it may be a fluke and due to her stylist level. I gave her another chance to fix my hair, which she did so graciously. Months later, I made an appointment for a trim, and she left my hair uneven once again. At this appointment I felt so rush and unheard. When she finished cutting, she curled my hair despite me saying I wanted it smooth/straight so I can see the angles/layers. She tried to fix it but left it wavy and I was not able to see the haircut properly. When I came home and straightened my hair the left and right side of my hair was noticeably uneven. I headed to another salon, where the stylist pointed out that it seemed like previous stylist did not properly finish my haircut. My ends were feathered atrociously that it didnt appear as if I recently got a cut. The length difference was about .5 inches from right to left, the layers were uneven and the curtain bangs was blunt with no shape. Never coming back here again!
