Heartbroken by the Lack of Compassion After Years of Loyalty I was a loyal customer for sometime even back when the salon had the old yellow paint and worn décor. I’d drive over an hour and a half each way just to support their business. Sometimes I brought my 93-year-old grandmother, who is blind. She would quietly rest while I got my hair done, and I often paid extra to have her hair washed and styled too, just to keep her comfortable. One visit, right after the remodel, I brought my grandmother and her sitter (who was also serviced) because I had a funeral to attend the next day. My grandmother, tired from the long drive, dozed off in the waiting area. The owner and other staff called my stylist out several times, saying it "wasn’t a good look" to have her sleeping there and that they "didn’t want her dropping any slob out of her mouth onto their new pillows." That was humiliating and deeply disappointing. I had always paid well, tipped generously, and brought them new clients. What hurt most is that the owner, a breast cancer survivor, of all people, should understand compassion and dignity, especially toward the elderly. After my daughters posted honest reviews, my stylist, clearly upset "accidentally" burned my ear with a curling iron. That was the last time I went back. I supported this salon, but the humility that once made it special vanished with the renovation. I’ll never forget how they treated a 93-year-old woman who simply needed a moment to rest.
I will start off by saying the owner of this salon is an angel, she helped me and did not discriminate against me. And for her I’ll give the place 5 stars. However, Uncle Daddy aka Damien Walters basically led me on to think i would get my hair done , only to reschedule the appointment and in the last minute tell me he doesn’t want to do my hair for a reason he would not disclose. I am Trans , which i disclosed to him when he mentioned i have a masculine hairline. He called me on the phone after i inquired if my lifestyle was a problem for him. He told me that he doesn’t have nothing to do with him so it’s not a problem, to send him pics of what i want. Then we booked an appointment for Monday Jan 19th 2026. When the day of the appointment came, he said he didn’t plan the day correctly and rescheduled me for the next day (today), at 1 pm. He canceled and blocked me at 11:53 am. The reason I’m giving the salon a 5 Star is solely because the shop Owner personally helped me find a stylist and made me feel comfortable while in her presence. The energy of the space was amazing!
Damian (The Evolution of Style) was great. His energy is EVERYTHING, which is why I went to him (all the way from GA). I loved watching his method of getting his clients serviced. He runs his appointments like an assembly line and this works! The best part is ..... he doesn't rush thru your care just because he knows someone else showed up. I LOVE THAT attention and focus. Supreme service plus they had healthy fresh pressed juice for purchase and someone came by selling dinners and bundt cakes. Made my Saturday a super dope event‼️ I forgot to get pictures of the finished product 🤦🏾♀️
Pam P does an amazing job on my hair. I came to her 3 years ago after I accidentally burned my hair out from a perm. My hair has grown exponentially since then and it’s because of Pam’s treatments and techniques. She provides the best maintenance for my hair overall. The salon also have a cool environment and it’s so relaxed that you will feel right at home. 10/10
I booked an appointment with Brittany for 2pm on Thursday. We had spoken on the phone twice, to confirm that the hairstyle (see picture for reference), price ($100 for shampoo and style), and appointment time was feasible. She comes ten minutes late to the appointment, and tells me it is going to be an additional cost because my hair was "longer" than expected. She washes, and puts deep conditioner in my hair to make it easier to comb out. With no additional information given, an hour and a half goes by. I still have the deep conditioner in my hair, and she’s working on a different client. When I get up from my seat and walk to her booth, I ask her "is it meant to sit for this long?" (Remember, an hour and a half has passed) She replies that since my hair is matted, it needs to sit for longer. At this point, I ask to go home so I can get a couple of things. When I am at home, I try calling and texting to know if I am good to come back to the salon. No replies or responses. I come back around 6pm, and she is working on a completely different client. Citing that I would need to wait until after she finishes with her new client. At this point, four hours of my day have been lost, so I just ask for her to wash and comb out my hair. She does a portion of my hair, but I realize it is going to take awhile, and I didn’t want her 5pm client to have to potentially wait as long as I did. I ask for her to stop, and just rinse out the deep conditioner (that has been in my hair for about 4 hours at this point). A friend had recommended this place, and it was my first time I wanted to try getting my hair done for my graduation. So this was a big disappointment. Last thing I will add is, I paid a $50 deposit. I didn’t receive the full service, so I ask for the deposit back. If there was a non-refundable deposit policy, I would understand, but that was not communicated at all. I ask for the deposit back, and she didn’t respond.
This was my first time trying a silk press and I really like the results. My hair is very fine so my hair style lasted one day. I am so glad my best friend took pics right after my salon visit. I am willing to try one more time though
Ms. Pam was very kind as well as the other ladies in the shop. I’m new to Houston and really appreciated her welcoming and generosity- I unknowingly walked in needing a wash and blow dry and even though she had a client Ms. Pam made time for me and had such care dealing with my hair. She even was able to find another braider from her suite to do my braids last minute which I appreciated. I’ll be coming back for all my natural hair care most definitely, and I recommend this salon for anyone looking for women to go above and beyond for you
