I went in Wednesday to get a balayage. Let me just say the stylist was very nice and we had good conversation but she did not do what I ask went it came to my hair. I left very disappointed and upset but did received a refund. In my opinion this is a really bad highlight job and not even close to a balayage. The stylist did try to fix it but it didn't help and I went an hr later they wanted to try a different stylist to fix but at that point I was scared they will mess up more. My hair dried out and wondering how im going to fix it without it getting damaged anymore.

John does an awesome job and is beyond professional! Like others have mentioned, if you're looking for a great haircut, I highly recommend paying him a visit.

This was my first time ever going to a true salon. I can say without a doubt it was the best experience and haircut I have ever had. Jaime was so friendly and helpful when I couldn’t decide what I wanted. I will definitely be recommending her to everyone! Before and after below

It’s challenging to find a new place in hopes of finding a new hair stylist. I’ve been to over a dozen in the past few weeks. They were either closed and have abnormal hours or were solely reservations only which is challenging for people who work 60-70 hours a week. I rarely trust anyone to cut my hair. But it needed to be done. So I left in disappointment. Turned out the owner, John had ran out to my car and said he’d happily take me if I came back in an 2 hours. I was on the boarder of saying no. But I respected the effort of him running out to me with a solution. (Which was way more than other places did, and THAT created trust right off the back). That was the only reason I came back and I’m glad I did. He did fantastic work. As nervous as I was getting my hair cut from someone I never met or has done work on my hair. He made the moment feel good and eased me into a new and great look. I will be going back for more in depth work moving forward. The other stylists there were also welcoming and even added their conversation in with mine and John’s. It was overall a surprising and great environment. 👌🏼

Prices are very reasonable, very clean, and John will let you know if it's very busy. Know that there are not many employees here, so there may be a wait time. I'd recommend either calling ahead or going in when you're not in a hurry. It is walk-ins ONLY; no appointments. My husband and I are VERY particular about how we like out hair cut. (Mine: chop layers, w/ long tapered V; husband: skin fade w/ textured top cut and clean lining/shape). I got my hair cut by Roniesha, and my husband was done by John; they both were very friendly and consistently asked relevant questions as they styled/cut. Will definitely be seeing these two during our time in VA.

Been going here exclusively for haircuts over 2 years. Cannot recommend John and his crew enough. Always takes his time to make sure you get a good cut and have a relaxing experience. Always friendly and great to talk to. If you care at all about what your hair looks like, do yourself a favor and give john a shot. I guarantee you will never want to go anywhere else for a cut again.

John is the by far the best barber/stylist I’ve ever been to. He’s incredibly versatile, having cut my hair while it was short and faded, and while it was long and grown out. I’ve never left with a bad haircut or a bad experience. The shop is always clean with pleasant music playing and all of the employees are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. If there’s a perfect place to get your hair done it’s here!
