Madison Reed Hair Color Bar Garland

I will never return to a Madison Reed salon. My colorist acted annoyed from the start and answered my questions in a condescending tone. I came in for a shadow root—something their online AI told me could be done in-salon—but she refused to do the lowlight service needed and pushed me into a basic root instead. The color came out almost black (a level 3), and the application was rushed, uneven, and splotchy. She didn’t brush or properly section my hair, and the dark color was dragged 3 inches down in the front but barely applied in the back. Mind you my entire head was a honey blonde when I came in. The color was all over my forehead and my face broke out due to it. She disappeared as soon as she applied the color. When it was time to rinse, a random staff member washed my hair so aggressively that he scratched my scalp and drenched my back. The manager thankfully stepped in to finish, but my colorist never returned. When I blow-dried my hair, I was devastated—my level 8 hair had blotchy, almost black roots. I later realized I even had a swollen scratch on my scalp. My sister, who is a hairstylist, ended up driving two hours to help fix it. I still tipped out of habit, but I canceled my membership and will never go back.

I had a 5 star experience at Madison Reed Garland! The whole experience from start to finish was fabulous. I felt like a pampered princess. The pro + membership is the way to go to manage those pesky grays. Gladys and staff were stellar - kind, professional, knowledgeable and my blowout was the best I've had in years. Wonderful experience! Steven was amazing. He was patient which was important for me. I’m graciously answered all my questions and explained all that I needed to know since it was my first time. I will be returning based on his customer service alone.

The website is EXTREMELY misleading and I had filled out a profile with several highlight options available for my daughter to have her hair done for her birthday. No where did it mention they specialize in only GRAYS. No where do it mention they only treat customers 13+ with a parent there. No where did it state they don’t do highlights AT ALL. We booked this appointment for early morning and planned our entire day around this only to get there and be declined being told they only do gray touch ups, won’t service an 11 year old even with parental consent and they don’t do highlights of any kind. My daughter had waited over a month for this and was in tears. The worker even told me the site is very misleading and they have had this issue before.

This salon has a very kind staff that cares about each client’s needs. I enjoyed my time at this salon. Thank you for all your careful attention to detail. I love my color and enjoyed meeting you all.
