I’ve been going to Star for about 10 years now, and I truly wouldn’t trust my hair with anyone else. I’ve followed her everywhere she’s gone because she’s that good, and that says everything. The service at Hair by Maritza is always amazing. Every visit feels welcoming, professional, and genuinely enjoyable. The ladies here are fabulous, and over time I’ve really gotten the chance to get to know and love the entire team. Even though Star has worked at different salons over the years, Hair by Maritza is by far my favorite salon she’s ever worked at. The atmosphere, talent, and level of care really set it apart. You can tell this is a place where clients matter and the team truly supports one another. Highly recommend Star and the entire Hair by Maritza team.

I live in the Tampa Bay Area; however, I will always make the drive to get my hair done by Carla! She has taught me how to love my curls. She is great at explaining what hair cut would look best for what I want and what products would work best as well. I have been coming to see her for a few years now and I always get compliments on my hair. I highly reccomend Carla & Maritza for all your curly hair needs!

I have been coming to Hair by Maritza for ten years. I had seen a woman in a restaurant with such beautiful haircut.I asked her where she had it done and this was the place.. Her cuts are wonderful and I love my color. She is always consistent in everything she does. Aside from her professionalism, she is a kind and compassionate woman. I highly recommend Hair by Maritza for any woman.

Maritza gets my curls! I’ve been her client for over 10 years and I never want to have anyone else touch my hair. She not only knows how to cut and shape my curls she also knows what style looks best on me and works best for my curls. She is a true artist!!!

For curly haired girls it is so hard to find someone with expertise, who will listen to us, and make us look fabulous. I got my hair cut and styled by indi and although I hate leaving bad reviews I must warn others. Sometimes as a customer you don’t know how to explain exactly what you want, however I showed the stylist numerous pictures of how my hair is usually styled one being how I liked it to be cut. I said I wanted the layers evened out and not lose too much length. I’ve gotten numerous curly cuts before and I think one red flag I should’ve seen was no one showed me how much would be cut on me before starting. I let them know I was doing this before a big trip which can already be nerve wrecking. As a stylist I think it’s your job to thoroughly explain what you are going to do. Since the cut is on dry hair it’s hard to tell that they’re cutting off too much. For reference I am adding a picture of how my hair was before this haircut so you may understand my frustration and disappointment. When expressing my displeasure to the stylist once it dried so short, indi told me that’s "what I asked for" and to just elongate my curls aka not define them as much so it appears longer, and "well I told you we’d have to lose some length to even the layers" but that much length for the way the cut looks doesn’t make sense. Also compassion goes a long way and could make anyone feel better I didn’t exactly want to hear "there’s nothing I can do". Not to mentions my layers are still not even or rounded, the cut itself is not centered and is choppy. I said I wanted more volume and a more rounded look. This is not it. I have gotten curly cuts where I’ve had this achieved while not compromising too much length. I would’ve never imagined this to be the outcome. Again the first two pictures where my hair looks WORSE is after the cut. The second two is my hair before this cut.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Maritza and her amazing teammate, Star. I’ve been going to Maritza for over ten years, and she has been nothing short of consistently incredible. Every six weeks she perfects my copper hair color, and it always turns out exactly right. Maritza has such a warm, nurturing nature that instantly puts you at ease—she’s truly a joy to be around. Her expertise, professionalism, and genuine care for her clients are unmatched. Star is also fantastic and makes the entire experience even better with her attentiveness and kindness. I even trusted Maritza to style my hair on my wedding day and it stayed beautifully in place all day long. I highly recommend Maritza, especially to anyone with curly hair. You will be in the best hands possible.

From the moment I walked in, I felt heard and cared for. They took the time to understand my curl pattern, texture, lifestyle, and goals instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach. They specialize in DevaCut, and it truly shows. My curls are defined, balanced, and full of life without feeling weighed down. They also explained why they were doing what they were doing, shared curl-care tips I can actually use at home, and recommended products without being pushy. I walked out with curls that looked better than they ever have, even on day two and three. I was able to feel confident with my curls loose for the first time in my life. When I later decided to cut my hair very short Carla accepted the challenge and made the cut layer by layer until we found a length and style that worked for me. I have zero regrets. They are competitively priced and they deal with other hair types too so don't be afraid to come here if your hair is straight. They are the BEST.
