Gordon Salon Evanston

I booked an appointment at this salon for 10:00 AM, and I arrived at 10:02 AM. The stylist was supposed to be ready for me, but she was already working on someone else during my appointment time. Because of this, my wedding was at 11:50 AM, and since the stylist didn't start until 10:26 AM, I was late for my ceremony. I have nothing bad to say about the salon itself, or about the wonderful and sweet hairstyle she created, but the only issue is that they should respect people's time. I booked my appointment for 10:00 AM so I could leave early, but unfortunately, I had to wait 26 minutes past my arrival time, which delayed my other plans. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

I’ve been searching for a great hairstylist since I moved to the U.S. 10 years ago — and I finally found her! Rachel is absolutely amazing. She really knows what to do with hair and makes you feel comfortable and understood from the moment you sit in her chair. Not only is she a talented stylist, but also such a lovely person. The salon itself is beautiful — stylish and modern, with a wonderful atmosphere and people. They even give you a relaxing head massage, and the shampoo chairs are so comfortable that you could easily fall asleep! You truly feel pampered and relaxed in this place. I’m so happy with my hair and will definitely be coming back to Rachel again! 💇‍♀️✨

I switched salons after 20-plus years for a fresh perspective with a different stylist. I could not be more pleased. Dalayne is an excellent stylist and colorist, and the salon staff is friendly and more than helpful. Excellent experience overall!

I had been going to this salon for months when I lived in Evanston and overall had kind of a weird experience there. Dalayne was nice but she would point out odd insecurities that I had never noticed before, telling me I have grey hairs (I don’t), telling me I had a mole on my head, a couple more I don’t remember. Justin (I don’t think he’s there anymore?) added color to my bleach blonde hair without asking and didn’t tell me until afterwards because he thought "it would look good". It looked bad and added extra $ onto my services. Margaret was able to fix it and I was always happy with her services, she was nice overall, but she was oddly silent during our appointments but would talk to coworkers around her. I kept going back because all the other salons in the area were abysmal

Was given a gift for a free haircut. I was booked with Elise. I'm tough. Swim 5 days a week hair is a mess, dry, course. I like it short. Elise did a great job, listened to me and not try to upsell Aveda products which has happened at other Aveda salons. I already booked a repeat appointment with her in March

Today was my first time at Gordon’s salon, everyone was so fun, kind and helpful, a great experience. CAT did an amazing job of cutting my hair into a fun new style and more importantly talking over my future hair goals and coming up with a plan to get my hair into better health. She really is that one in a million hairstylist!

As a woman who’s been wearing very little make up or the same make up for decades, I went to Sammy today for a makeup tutorial and application. She was wonderful! I feel like my makeup was refreshed and brought out the best in my features. She is amazing.
