Downtown Refinery Salon

I had not gotten a hair cut in quite a while. Usually I'd go to great clips or do it myself. But Amber took such great care of my hair that I am never cutting my own hair again. Amber really listened to my input and gave me the perfect cut. I am really happy with it!

This is a nice busy salon. Folks were friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. I got a very professional haircut from Stephen.

Excellent experience from check-in to check-out. The people here are warm and greet you immediately. Stylists are professional and SO good! I see Jill and feel like I’ve found my "forever" person. It only gets better.

Got my hair colored for the first time in June with Amy. She was very good about explaining the whole process! The reference photo I brought it was a good starting point, but I’d say the final result looks better than the reference. Amy’s knowledge and skill is impressive. The color has not faded too much since then, and is still a nice purple shade. The place has a nice calm, professional atmosphere as well.

Aimee was FABULOUS! She FIXED my horrible color and the debacle of my last haircut I had gotten at another salon. I had let my hair go for a year because I was so afraid to have anyone touch it again. Thank you AIMEE for giving me my hair back! I'm thrilled. The salon is lovely and everyone was friendly and inviting. I wholeheartedly recommend Downtown Refinery.

From the moment I entered the salon, I knew that every detail, from decor to interaction with the hairstylists, to the actual haircut/blow dry/color...would be creative, fun and make me feel special - exactly what I look for in a salon. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and warm and, Terry Peel, my hairstylist was no exception. She listened to what I was looking for and expertly gave it to me. Her many years of experience and love of her job clearly show, and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Boulder.

I hate leaving bad reviews, especially when there are still a lot of good things about a place. DFS has great and knowledgeable hairstylists, nice ambience and quality products. Briana is a *very* talented hairstylist hands-down but she can be curt and was 30 minutes late last time I was in. I would’ve been OK with this but she did not apologize, it affected what we could/couldn't get done. She was curt and obviously stressed. Getting your hair done is equal parts experience as well as quality. It’s unfortunate that I had to leave such a review.
