I’ve been seeing Lay for almost six months and couldn’t be happier. I was nervous to switch stylists after going to the same place for years, but it was the best decision. She’s incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, and takes the time to ask thoughtful questions and make small tweaks so everything feels tailored to me. Before Lay, my salon experiences felt a little hit-or-miss, but now I consistently leave feeling so good about my hair. I’m so glad I found her and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Lay is amazing. I came in to have my hair colored, including highlights, and the following day realized I wanted the color darkened a bit. Even with a tight and busy schedule, Lay was communicative, patient, and made sure to accommodate me. We went back and forth to get the color just right, and she truly delivered. I’m very happy with the final outcome and genuinely appreciate the care, flexibility, and dedication she showed to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend Lay and will definitely be returning.

Lay has been such an incredible hair stylist for many years. I have done Bethesda blonde, complete white blonde, the dark chop, and long rapunzel hair extensions, and every time it looks stunning. She truly cares about making your hair look good while staying healthy and not compromising the integrity of your hair. She’s knowledgeable in all different types of hair and will help you get to where you want to be! I had a terrible previous experience with extensions going somewhere else (hair getting ripped out!!) and she put my mind at ease and I’ve never had an itchy or painful experience with her extensions that are high quality and color matched so well. Honestly my hair has gotten longer and stronger! She is also flexible in her hours and works extremely hard. I would recommend her to anyone! See below for pictures of my new comfy extensions!

Can we talk about a hidden gem?! I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Beauty Laboratory in Bethesda, and let me tell you Lay is THAT girl. From the moment I booked the appointment (same day), the whole process was smooth and drama-free (which is rare these days, let’s be honest). She was punctual not "I’m on my way" punctual, but actually ready and waiting and ready when I walked in. Lay is so sweet, polite, and just has a calm energy that makes you feel like you’re in good hands. She was gentle with my hair and really knew her stuff. You can tell she’s knowledgeable and actually cares about the health of your hair, not just the style. And let’s talk about the price point it’s affordable for the quality of service she gives. The salon itself is clean, peaceful, and not filled with chaos. No loud music, no over-the-top attitudes just a really enjoyable, professional vibe. As someone who’s extremely picky (and that’s putting it lightly). Thank you Lay! My hair and my peace of mind thanks u. lol

I moved to California and was so worried about finding someone who knew hand sewn extensions. I came upon Lay by accident, but it was the best things that ever happened to me and my hair. She is the consummate professional, always working on perfecting her skills. My hair, which is fine and brittle, has never looked better! She always took time to listen to me and made the best recommendations for my hair. She is amazing at what she does!! My color and extensions are perfect!!

Lay is the full package!! I have been going to Lay exclusively for the past 6 years and I have several friends that go to her as well! First off, as a hair stylist, I have never been more happy and impressed with the way my hair has been cut, colored, and styled! Her blending is phenomenal and her color is always exactly what I want. She listens to what you want, gives the best advice when you are thinking to try something new, and ALWAYS delivers exactly what you envisioned. As a business owner, Lay has incredible communication, always makes scheduling work, has never once made me wait or reschedule an appointment, and provides lovely amenities such as coffee bar and snacks! On top of that, I have found a friend and confidant in Lay! She is so kind, friendly, and caring! She remembers the details, and the time in the salon flies by with our amazing nonstop conversations. She treats you as a friend from the start and truly builds that relationship each time you’re in the salon. On top of it all, I told her I was getting my hair done for my birthday this year, and she came in with complimentary mimosas and a birthday discount! I always feel pampered by her! And for an affordable price!! I am so sad because today was my last time going to her as I am moving out of state and I know for sure I will never find someone as incredible and talented of a hair stylist, but also as incredible as a person and friend. She’s coming out with her own line of hair products soon and I will be purchasing immediately!! Could never say enough good things about Lay, I am so grateful to have found her years ago.
