Worst gel manicure experience ever – will never return I showed up on time for my appointment and was randomly assigned a technician (older woman, first row on the right side near the wall). A proper gel manicure normally takes 50 minutes to an hour — including removing the old gel — but she rushed through everything in about 30 minutes total. From the start, she worked carelessly and painfully. She didn’t even wait for my answer when asking "OK?" — just went ahead and painted or applied lotion without listening. She even got polish all over the skin around my nails instead of keeping it on the nail surface. I asked for a matte top coat, but she only applied it to the center of my nails, leaving the edges glossy and messy. The polish is lumpy, uneven, and looks like it was done by a child. The "hand massage" was just quickly rubbing in lotion, nothing more. To make things worse, they charged me an extra $5 for a matte top coat — which is simply used instead of the glossy top coat, not an extra service. The quality is absolutely unacceptable, and yet it cost me $47 (plus a $10 tip out of politeness to the front desk). I regret tipping at all. Save your money and your nails — I will never come back here, and I recommend everyone avoid this technician. Update: They rushed through everything in about 30 minutes — from color to cuticle work — and it showed. The cuticles weren’t properly cleaned, and within just 3 days they looked completely messy. The matte top coat and color peeled off right away, and shockingly, the color even started peeling from the center of the nail — something I’ve never experienced before. Honestly, even the cheap nail service I once had while traveling in Vietnam was far better than this. This salon is a total waste of time and money. Never again.

Mint Nail Lounge is a gem. They offer a wide variety of services, and my mom and I have become frequent customers because the experience is consistently great. I love their pedicure menu—my go-to choices are the Lemon Dream, Orange Peel, or Champagne Rose pedicure. Each feels truly luxurious, with hot stones, aromatic scrubs, and a paraffin heel mask that leaves your feet so soft. There’s also a great selection of colors to choose from. The pricing is very reasonable for the level of care and treatment you get. Highly recommend.

Really nice, clean and well-kept salon! I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years and they do a fantastic job. Cindy is excellent with designs and shaping my nails. I’ve also had great dip manicures from Liz and Ivy!

I have been coming to Mint Nail Lounge for about 2 years and consistently have a great experience. They are located in the heart of Ballston with ample parking in the area. The salon itself is beautiful and very welcoming with their reception team always ready to greet you with a smile. I always feel good about the services I receive because of their rigorous hygiene practices and standards of cleanliness. All of the nail technicians do a great job, but I have been following with May and could not be happier!! She always greets me like an old friend and does the most amazing magic on my nails. I almost don’t want to share how phenomenal her work is, for fear that I won’t be able to book with her in the future—but I can’t gate keep her forever! I highly recommend Mint Ballston to anyone I know who wants both high-quality service and stunning nails—not to mention some of the best pricing in the area! Definitely worth a trip.

Vicky is the absolute best. I love doing crazy and fun designs and Vicky does a beautiful job every single time. I’m convinced she’s the best manicurist in Arlington! Attached are just some of the designs she’s done for me throughout the years. If you’re not going to Vicky, you’re missing out!! Not to mention she is a wonderful person too！

I cannot say enough good things about Mint, but I’ll try to put it all here! 1) So far I’ve worked with Jasmine, Kelly, May, and Vicky and all of them are so talented and kind! 2) The front desk is SO friendly and quick to help me find the right appointment when I’m scheduling for multiple people at once. 3) I typically come in once a month because my gel always lasts at least 4 weeks, and while I usually have an idea in mind, everyone is so helpful if I don’t know what to do for designs/shape/style. 4) The tvs always have animal videos on which is so fun. 5) I love their rewards card and always plan my most expensive sets around being about to get a discount with my card (I think it’s every 8th time you come in). 6) whenever I break a nail, I know I can come in for glue and other magic to make the break last at least 3 more weeks! 10/10 for cleanliness, friendliness, and talent - I bring everyone I know here for self-care!
