Salon Davinci

This review is long overdue! I live in Colorado but was up in Anchorage over Memorial Day. I decided that I wanted to cut about 20 inches off of my waaaay too long hair. First of all when I called Salon Davinci, the women that answered the phone was so nice. I explained to her that I didn't want to be rushed, that I wanted to cut a lot off of my hair, and that I hated getting my hair cut - AND that I have a sensitive scalp -AND that I would be on a phone conference for part of the time and I apologized in advance. Yes! I am a high maintenance customer. She was kind and accommodating. She set an appt. up for me with Savannah. I have been getting my hair cut, trimmed, colored, blow-dried, you name it at all of the best fancy salons in the Denver and Boulder area for over 20 years. NEVER had I had a stylist as fantastic as Savannah. Savannah sat me down, and asked me what I do each day? How much time do I want to spend on my hair? what kind of options do I want? She spent at least 20 minutes figuring out what I do so that she could cut my hair to meet my needs. I am runner and I like to braid my hair for long runs, but my hair was overwhelming my frame. She was careful the entire time, cutting my hair in multiple steps and explaining what she was doing and why ("I don't want you have 'triangle' hair". "I want to be sure you don't have a bunch of little ends sticking out when you braid your hair", etc). She did a perfect job, was kind, compassionate, and careful. When I was done I also bought this amazing smelling spray leave -in conditioner, but she didn't try to pressure me into buying tons of product. Honestly, this was the best hair experience I have had in decades. I know I will be traveling more to Anchorage to see the love of my life, and I look forward to returning to this gem of a hair salon. Thank you Savannah!

An organic salon! This is my first experience at one of those. Great products, great hairdressers, great service. It's a win-win. Not only did I get fabulous care and service, I got an education in scalp and hair health. They will take their time with you and focus on your tailored needs, and can make proper recommendations.

Really great experience. Not only was every product and it’s use explained to me, but she was aware both of my very specific hair type needs as well as the weather and water situation up in northwest Alaska. Made me feel like a million bucks, and I’m glad to have found a great salon for my trips down to anchorage. I’ve been really down about my hair and it knowing what to do since I moved up, and just really feel cared for and so much better now! Thanks and I’ll obvi be back

Jen is the best!!! Been seeing her for 3 years now and love her. Organic salon products and treatments are mindfully administered to help bring out your healthy glow inside and out! She also has primo bang cutting skills I've never seen anyone else do. I highly recommend her and her salon!

Loved having Jen cut my hair. I stretch my cuts out as far as I can and while the styling changes, it always looks great until I can see her again! Thank you salon DaVinci and the team, Gabby, Ali, and Jen.

My review would be 1 star if it weren't my first time at this place. I believe this salon may actually be great, and if I had my hair cut by someone like Rae or Megan (who I had wanted in the first place) I would have walked out much happier. I believe my experience was the fault of the stylist I got, which is why I will be returning again to have my hair cut by someone else. I believe my hair was cut by Ray (but she never gave me her name). I provided pictures and description for what I wanted, however, she barely glanced at it and went straight to cutting without even speaking to me about it further. She gave me a completely different style and length than what I asked for, and even acknowledged partway through that it didn't look right but continued anyways. She only actually looked at the reference pictures midway through the cut. I was shocked when she claimed it was done, even though I had ugly, choppy edges in a haircut I never asked for. I am devastated, because I cut off years worth of growth to have an ugly and uneven cut. I do not even know if I will be returning in the week for corrections because my hair is too short now to achieve what I was wanting. I suggest for anyone who wants more than a trim not to sit in Ray's chair.

I made an appointment for a haircut and bridal style trial, and they called the day before the appointment to tell me 'something came up' and they needed to reschedule. They eventually did, four days later. Turns out they're closing the location, so my normal stylist wasn't there to so my hair, but the owner was. The cut was fine, but the bridal trial was a bit of a mess. I specifically asked on the phone about trying some curled styles, but the day of the appointment, the owner didn't have a curling iron. So much for that.
