Target

The associates here are Racist!!!! Beware!! I came here on a work break on 2/6/26, to find an outfit for an engagement I had that evening. I found 4 items and headed to the fitting room. I noticed there were no fitting room attendants and no open rooms. I walked across the store trying to find an associate to open the door for me. I encountered John who seemed polite in greeting me initially and he said he will open the door for me. As we headed to the fitting room, there was another associate named Sam who shouted "I locked the doors." John then says ok "I'll open it for her". Sam, who now was all the way down the hall, calls John over & When John came back to me, he told me I would have to give my PURSE to him before I could go inside the fitting room and that this is done for security purposes. I had only been in the store for about 15 -20 minutes. This is absolutely NOT a policy of Target’s and I was racially profiled. I am highly hurt and disgusted. I have reported this incident & will never be back!!!

Relatively clean I guess. But nothing is in stock in the clothing section. Only one singular cashier on a Saturday. Line clogs up the whole front of the store. Wild to be honest, If I wanted that experience I would go to Walmart 🤷 the safety tag on my items makes it so I 'have' to go through this line. It's clear no one is happy to work there, I never blame staff for that however- that's a management/target issue especially if you look at the staffing, who wouldn't be demoralized being overworked in customer service.

I ordered a vacuum online to pick it up in the store. It will be ready in two hours. There was one left so I figured I’d order it by the time we get there when we go on, they took the money out of my account paid which I should’ve paid when I got there, but they took the Two hours later I went to the store and they said it was out of stock so now I have to wait 10 days for my refund as well. It was their fault not mine. Either the girl was lazy. She didn’t wanna go look at shelf and she just said it was out of stack or they made a mistake because that line said they had one left. They should never charge you until you get there now. What? Why do I have to be 10 days for that big refund? It wasn’t even my fault. I’ll never shop there again.

Target at Waterbury is poorly managed. I was there today, 12 Feb 2026 to make valentine's, groceries and toy purchases. The store had low inventory, some items were unavailable, not in location. Nature crackers should have been in the crackers aisle instead it is placed at the back of the store, I asked an employee for help and she didn't even know where it was and had to look it up. I found the location by myself. The store had only one cashier, the line had over 30 customers waiting to cash, the self checkout over that amount. That one cashier had to assist customers on that end plus cash out. While there were other employees in the store, some on phones, chatting etc. I was in line around 4:30 and was cash out after 5 pm. Target Waterbury management team is a disgrace, sloppy, unqualified etc.

Worst experience ever in the Waterbury Target. About 30 people in self check out line, NOT ONE register with a cashier. Unacceptable since I then had to go to the service desk to obtain the bonus Target gift card as part of the promotion for buying qualified products. That added another 15 minutes of waiting. The only employee interaction I received was from a man in electronics who stopped me to try to look at my cell phone plan to sell me a new contract- then proceeded to bother me again when I passed by on my way back through the area after I politely declined the first time. I will NEVER shop there again.

My wife and I have been going here for years. Great products at decent prices. The store is always neat and tidy, but since their recent renovations, the service has been absolutely atrocious. Only one cashier is on duty at all times which always causes a long line and there is never anyone covering the self service area to help with the inevitable problems that pop up. I don’t think we will be going back anytime soon.

It's one of my favorite stores to shop at. The prices are very reasonable. The store is clean and the staff are very helpful. Five stars all the way!
