Good selection of all types of physical media, higher markups, fairly easy to find what you're looking for, if it's there. I wouldn't recommend going here if you have any form of social anxiety. Walkways are cramped, and while some of the staff were nice, I got nothing but death glares from the folks at the register. After I had already purchased 3 records for +$70, I noticed a nice copy of Jethro Tull's living in the past. I asked to see it, started telling an anecdote, and was immediately cut off by the cashier - "You do know Jethro Tull isn't one person, right...?" I did know that, in fact. For anyone new to a band, that could be helpful information, sure. The delivery of that information was not given in a helpful nor kind way. Moreso, it left me feeling looked down upon for daring to mention something that tickled my fancy for a second. It made me feel judged for my perceived lack of taste/knowledge. I regretted every purchase I had made at this establishment over the past 15 years, as I probably could have found it all elsewhere. I wanted to return what I had just purchased, but I wanted to leave even more. 4.75/10 To the friendlier fellow in the back, please don't bother looking for/holding any Nujabes records.

Great selection of CDs and vinyl records. Lots of regulars shopping and chatting with the staff made for a great atmosphere

THE best Criterion selection in Nashville, but I never purchase any there because they are priced about 20% higher than you can score them for during the regular Criterion/B&H sales. It’s a bummer because I’d be here weekly blind buying films if they were 15-20% cheaper—that extra $5-10 keeps me holding out for the sales. I’ve been going there for 6+ months and they still have all of the same movies. They’d turn a lot more media if they dropped those prices. It would quickly become a go to Nashville spot for movies/tv collectors.

What a record store is supposed to be! Friendly staff, good location, lots of parking, fair trade values, huge selection.

I'm from the Chicagoland area & came into Nashville to visit friends. No matter where I go, I always look for cd stores. My friends daughter told me about Phonoluxe. I hit the mother load!! I definitely recommend this place. There is parking behind the store. First of all, the cd's are all waist high. I'm in my mid-50's & kneeling or squatting to look at cd's are a pain. No problem here. Next, its categorized by genre & then by artist. Prices are reasonable. They have both used & new cd's which they combine. I did notice that they labeled some cd's "Out Of Print" & the prices were raised on those. I was on a time crunch, so I wasn't able to go thru all the cd's. Although, I did buy 10! As for vinyl, it looked like a very good selection. I will be back!!!

I was able to get a delightful cd, although they ran out of things I liked, they had a wide variety of cds and vinyls I think that appeal to everyone equally. 🙂 Also the staff was really nice! 👍🏻👍🏻
