Dan's Downtown Records

I went into this store to see about selling some records I found in my attic.He seemed very upset that he had to go through 3 boxs of records. Now I know they were not in the best shape but his commentary was extremely rude and disgusting and at one point he said you know there is goodwill in Muncie why don't you take these trash records to them. Plus he had something to say about almost every album or would say why didn't you take care of these he also said don't t think you are getting rich today and laughed in a hateful way. I did have my nephew and husband with me and they thought he was very rude and condescending. Then his buddy decided to leave so he decided to sit there and no joke have a 10 min conversation with him and ignore us. Well once he did pick through the boxes he picked out like 12 albums he liked. Some including Elvis and the Beatles and some other really popular names. He then says I can't take the rest of the trash albums. So we say how much for the ones he has and he says $4!!!!! I mean the ones he got that he liked he would go Ahh that is a rare or good one so not sure why he only tried to give us $4 for so many albums. In the end we kept them. I did love the record store itself and loved browsing the selection yet did not like the owner at all or his attitude. If I had to rate it for just the store and not the customer service I would give it a 4/5 because I loved the music playing and everything about the store.

The vinyls are packed very tightly in their bins. So I took out three or four so I could flip through a bin easier. The owner flipped and started saying stupid customers can't read and yelling at me. Them he proceeded to stand over my shoulder and groan every time I touched anything. Evidentially this isn't uncommon according to others I spoke too. Thanks for ruining a great record store with your awful attitude.

Wow!! I love to visit Dan Dan the record man!! I evaluate record stores by 2 criteria...friendliness and knowledge of the owner,(causeI'm unfriendly n dumb) and the second judgement is ...how much of my cash do I leave behind? Dan's great and has all my money. . .

With every genre of music avalible how could you not love this store?! The best selection and best prices in this part of Indiana. Well organized and an abudence of merch! Dan is willing to help find what ever it is you are looking for. Some great tunes play while you are digging which is great. A fantastic atmosphere thats just waiting for you. Former manager at ye olde Karma with years of experience and an unbelievably large selection of new, re-issued and used records. I've bought Pixes, Cramps albums and even a Lenny Bruce record there. One of the best record stores in the the state.

I walked into Dan's store the other day for the first time last weekend and immediatly felt like i was a friend we talked for awhile i never purchased anything but will be back for several purchases
