Season H Long Missoula Realtor

Our daughter has decided to get into backpacking and exploring more of Montana, so for her birthday we wanted to get her equipment that will last. We spent about two hours at the Missoula REI this weekend, getting fitted for a backpack, asking questions and learning about different models, their features, and how they could or wouldn't work for her. I wish I remembered our sale persons name, he was FAB! It was a great experience! Would highly recommend anyone starting new in an outdoor activity to pop in for top of the line service. Thank you!!

I’m a member and still get treated like i’m an idiot. They have nice stuff and some things i need here because I can’t find it anywhere. However, they bother you a lot to see if you need help and then they can never help you or want you to order it. The cashier had no social skills. Asked for a bag and she got passive aggressive. Not a good look for a company to shove all your goods and make you walk out looking like an idiot holding it all in your arms. Sadly, REI is not the only company that has sacrificed customer service over their dumb agenda. Its a lost art but its not difficult. I would appreciate if the public didn’t act like dogs are children and just leave them at home. I don’t enjoy having allergic attacks while shopping for gear

Moved the store around but I like all most of the workers seem accommodating and knowledgeable about the products in. The store. Wven helped me get things I dont need. Overall always a pleasant experience having a good selection of outdoor need per season.

In the span of one year they decided to start price gouging; because the same shoes last year from the used section that were $35 are now $94, for the exact same ones. These are used shoes, that aren't in great condition... Furthermore, they list the retail price being $170, but online the price is $150. Very disappointing to see REI turn into con artists.

Smaller than REI stores I'm used to from Seattle and San Francisco, but just as fun to explore. Staff were very helpful. Had a great chat with Elizabeth about her hikes in Nepal and got great recommendations for what gear to bring for trekking the Basecamp. About a dozen choices for sleeping bag liners, which is the main thing I was shopping for.

Shout out to Alex (and Jeff😂) in the shoe department!!! He was really helpful when I was trying on hiking boots and comparing brands. He asked the right questions that helped me pick the right pair, plus he was personable and attentive - service seldom found in retail these days. Shannon at checkout was also really helpful and kind. Wished I lived in Missoula so I could shop at this location regularly!!!! Thank you to the great staff!

Inside REI Missoula is their full-service ski & board shop. I went in to get my ski bindings tested. The guy standing at the counter, when I walked up, wasn’t very pleasant. He even scolded me a little for not bringing both boots. Rookie mistake, I admit. Probably having a bad day so I let it go. When Randy saw me standing there, he quickly came up and greeted me like he was happy to see me. That’s a rare thing. Randy was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. If I doubted after the first guy, Randy gave me complete confidence I was in the right place. He recommended a hot wax, which I agreed to. I was so happy about the work Randy did, and my overall experience, I brought my snowboard in for a repair & wax. I got Randy again and had another outstanding experience! As a member, I have come to trust REI for all my outdoor needs. It’s a great place. But, a guy like Randy is a game changer. He really gets it! I’ll be back to see Randy again.
