Customer Reviews
World of CD Rom has a rating of 3.9 out of 5 based on over 64 reviews on Google
Not bad. It's more expensive than a garage sale but way cheaper than best buy, lot of cool stuff and friendly staff. Need a quick used or new computer part including older stuff, that's the place.
I rented a PC from these guys for a few years and they're really good at what they do. I've gotten repairs from them before, but parts from them to do by own repair. Good place.
These people are scammers and will rip you off. I took my laptop for repair on Nov 27, I was charged $39.99 for initial diagnose, which was fine. After a few days they called me and told me that battery is bad plus another part needs to be replaced. and will cost me another $99. I told them go ahead and replace the parts as long as my Laptop will be fixed. Yesterday, on Dec 19, I picked up my laptop. They charged me $190.04 and still laptop is not fixed. These people are scammers. I will never go back to them and will tell everybody do not go to Word of CD-ROM. I will also send my complaint to Better Business Bureau of Kalamazoo
In over the 10 years I have been using them, they are the best. They are over worked and I understand sometimes it may take a few days, but I have always gotten my computer back within 5 days. And the service fee are more within the normal for the area. These guys can talk at any level experience. They are honest about the cost. They try to get work in the same day as they know I have run up from Coloma. They have built 2 PC desktops, and have the parts my son needs for upgrading his computer himself.
They charge you $39 up front for diagnosis of your computer. That goes towards your total bill. My son built a gaming computer and it kept shutting down. They ran diagnostics and found it was the power supply. Total bill $39. Anyone else would have charged us a lot more. I have been bringing my computers here for 20 years, never have they taken advantage of me. I trust World of CD ROM.
When our laptop stopped working we visited a few places to get quotes. We decided on World of CD-ROM as they were very straight forward. We dropped it off Monday morning. When they had learned what was wrong with the laptop, they took the time to learn about our needs and gave us a few options to choose from. We decided to go with a new desktop system instead of another laptop and it really is a better fit. We picked it up last night after work and we are very pleased. They saved all of our files and programs and now they are on the desktop. We really appreciate the time they took and how quickly our issue was resolved. We highly recommend this shop.
These people are absolute scammers and I do not recommend giving them a penny. They had my computer for two months and I still have a broken computer and have lost money. They told me I would need a new computer because the motherboard was fried. I went into the shop to pick up my new rental laptop as well as my old, broken computer. Ryan gave me the new computer and tried to give me a HP that wasn't mine.. I told him it was not my computer, and my new computer did not have Microsoft like it was supposed to. He got Microsoft on it and went to look for my TOSHIBA computer. No luck.. He said he would call me when he found it. I waited 3 days until I called them (this happened EVERY time.. they say they will call, but never do!!!). Jay answered the phone and said he had my HP computer there for pick up. I explained to him I brought in a TOSHIBA, not an HP. Jay kept arguing with me, saying a man has mistaken his computer for the wrong type before also. He said "Ma'am, I turned your computer on in front of all the employees and it is your name and a picture of you with your family that comes up. This is your HP." I asked if maybe my hard drive from my Toshiba got transferred to that HP. He said that would not have happened because that takes a very long time and they don't do that. I called back later when I figured out the exact model of my Toshiba. Ryan was very nice and called within a few hours to tell me he had found my Toshiba in the RECYCLING. I asked him to run a diagnostic test on it again to be sure that what they had said was wrong with the computer the whole time was actually wrong with the Toshiba and not the HP. He said he would call me back at the latest the next day. Next day 4:00 rolls around and of course, no call.. So I call Ryan and he tells me the diagnostic test showed something similar to the HP but not as bad. This whole time they had my computer mixed up... I refused to have them do anymore work on my computer and got it out of that shop ASAP. I feel sorry for the owner of the HP, or I'm wondering if they just told me my Toshiba was broke and should be recycled just so I had to get a new computer and they could use my Toshiba to refurbish and sell... DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! IT'LL SAVE YOU MONEY, TIME, STRESS, AND ENERGY TO STAY AWAY!
