Crossed in from Canada just to check out this spot and left very pleased after crossing a lot off my soul and jazz wantlist. Much respect to the owner for being friendly and very patient. Will definitely be back!

People’s records is one of my all-time favorite record stores 🖤. Every time I come here I ALWAYS find treasures. They have a great Exotica, Techno, and House collection, and always some interesting finds in the new arrivals. AND…. Their pricing is ULTRA reasonable. I leave with a stack of vinyl and a smile on my face every time I go to People’s Records ☺️

I came to People’s Records for a rare find, and staff here went through great lengths to help me find it. They also gave some great local recommendations for coffee and street art. The selection of 45s here is unmatched, and the digging here is truly endless, you’re sure to find gems. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in Detroit!

This place was Awesome! I could be in here all day. Stopped in for my first visit on my birthday. So many records, all organized and the prices were great! I bought a stack of my collection. Bonus: There is a coffee shop next door, so you literally could be there all day!

Visiting from Seattle. Great store with affordable local selection. Bought 4 local punk and soul records (most contemporary) fir $50. I found the organization system quite confusing though.

Coming from New York, and being a child of the vinyl age I was transported!!! There's no shortage of record stores or thriftspaces to find black gold in NY. PEOPLES RECORDS The pleasure was mine watching my daughter picking vinyl and vibing with the OG's in the store. The owner is silent but filled with knowledge and the in store dj's are silky smooth playing unique sounds, and they also have a motown "girl" on staff. Be ready to spend some time when you visit this Detroit gem 😎
