Customer Reviews
Hot Topic has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 248 reviews on Google
I had a poor interaction with the store employees during my recent visit. I walked in with a few other customers, and while the girl and man at the counter were having a private conversation, the girl greeted us by saying, "Hi everyone, welcome on in," but no one responded. The gentleman behind the counter then added that if anyone needed anything to let them know, to which another customer politely replied, "Thank you." He then responded with, "No problem, I was just checking that everybody wasn’t mute." This comment felt unnecessary and unprofessional, and it made the shopping experience uncomfortable. It’s difficult to feel welcomed or want to approach the register to make a purchase after remarks like that.
Placed a pick up order for 5 items. Was given 2 items, despite showing the employee my order, which was for FIVE ITEMS; got charged for 5 items. Told me to call customer service about it, didn't try to help me at all, wasn't apologetic, NOTHING. And this was the older bigger lady who works there often, may even be a manager for the store. She's just always unnecessarily rude with an attitude; she's literally never been friendly. I dread seeing her every time I go in because she's always just such a C U Next Tuesday!!
They don't appreciate or accommodate Funko Pop customers, which is pretty rich considering that Pops are a big part of what's keeping their doors barely open. They don't answer questions over the phone (plenty of stores will bend over backwards to connect you with what you're looking for) and they treat Pop collectors like a complete nuisance.
It's too crowded to even think about getting a wheelchair in there. The merchandise has gotten pretty generic. Nothing edgy anymore. The staff was very nice but my daughter was only able to look at the sales racks, outside the store, because of the lack of accessibility.
I order from hot topic 4-5 times a month normally shipping never had any issues but i needed some idems your store offered for pick up woohoo on my part but sadly pick up experience was horrible! I did arrive early just seeing if by chance the order could be ready but it wasnt lady said come back at 6pm maybe it will be ready no big deal wait time normally (3-4hrs wait).. i walked by the store 5:55 heading to food court got email order was ready for pick up..walked back 6:05 sign on door said employee on break for 45mins come back now im confused bc store closes at 7 so i called the store no one answered..finished my shopping came back to store finally opened at 6:40pm.. never again will i visit this location..
Use to be a great business, but not anymore. Inventory is lacking in the stores more and more. Kiosk checkout outside the stores are time consuming and the machine runs out of receipt paper with the worker going back and forth to the main business for a receipt after EVERY purchase, which adds more time in line. Online orders from Hot Topic are ridiculous as items get cancelled from orders and discounts get left off because of cancellations that were done by the company itself. Presale is not a good thing at all as the item will be in the store for months before you might get it shipped it to you. Shipping dates get pushed back further and further with the item already on the shelf in the stores. Customer service representative, Taylor to be specific, is snarky and rude. This is one of the franchises that just needs to throw in the towel and bow out of sales in general.
Everytime I go in there, there is always somebody whether it be staff or another person buying things, that will help me if I need it. The staff is more than nice and they are sometimes a big influence. If they have tattoos, sometimes if im the only person in line, they will tell a story of how they got their first one. If they have piercings, they'll tell the story of how they had the courage to get it and if they thought it hurt or not. Hot Topic is an amazing place for people to connect whether it be a little kid, teenagers or adult, you can always find new friends there! 😍😊
