Islamic Center of Pittsburgh

Asalamu alakum, I come here for prayer and to attend the Friday khutbah. I’ve met nice people here, other people aren’t very nice or welcoming but it’s easy to come so I go here. It’s usually very clean upstairs. It’s quiet which I like. I was told there are dinners at the end of every Saturday, maybe I’ll attend one.

Alhumdulillah so far the biggest masjid in the grate Pittsburgh area. Very nice and clean. Available parking and enough space for salat.

This place is big, neat and clean and run by the people who hold good knowledge about islam, the iftar and sehri is literally incredible. I really loved this place.

I lived in Pittsburgh for 5 years. Ironically I worked at a Palestinian owned bakery in the mostly Jewish Neighborhood of Squirrel Hill when the massacre at the Tree of Life took place. It was a very dark time for the city and for people of the Jewish faith in general. Recently I watched the documentary on hbo about the shooting that took place at the Tree of Life and I was shocked to hear that the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh raised thousands of dollars for the victim’s families and to aid with the funeral costs. I’m overwhelmed with emotion even now thinking about such a beautiful act of compassion and love. The Islamic Center of Pittburgh helped restore faith in humanity and gave a silver lining to a horrible tragedy.
