My seven-year-old daughter has been attending coding classes at iCode on Jones Bridge Road in Alpharetta, and we have had such a positive experience. Arathi, the owner, is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. She even offered a free introductory class so we could be sure it was a good fit before committing, which I really appreciated. My daughter has been going once a week for several months now and genuinely loves it. I’ve been impressed by how much she’s learning and, just as importantly, by how engaging and fun the instructors make the classes for her. She’s creating her own little games with animations, which is amazing to see at her age. The instructors do a wonderful job of meeting kids where they are and turning coding into something approachable and exciting. I highly recommend iCode Alpharetta for families looking to introduce their children to coding in a supportive, well-run environment.

Icode hosted our school for a fun night of coding games for kids. It was extremely well run and the staff was very professional and accommodating. The kids are all begging to go back! The facility was very clean. I would definitely recommend Icode for any school break camps or regular school-year programming. Thanks Icode!!

My six year old son has been attending iCode for about two months and he's really enjoying it! We chose iCode because they were the only center in our area that offered Robotics/3D Printing programs for his age. The owner is very nice and has always been flexible when we need to reschedule due to conflicts. They also offer full-day camps during school breaks/holidays. So far, very pleased with our experience!

Our 8 year old held a birthday party here and we couldn't be happier! This location is run locally by a husband and wife team who are very involved in the community and understand the wants and needs of Alpharetta/Johns Creek parents. They accommodated 14 kids and were patient, helpful and organized over the three hour party. It was also a decent value which included pizza, chips and drinks. Much better experience than a Main Event or Bowling type of a party. The kids loved it, the parents knew this was semi-educational and a good time was had by all. Two thumbs up!

My child loves going to iCode Camps on days that school is closed and for summer camps. The facility is clean, bright and inviting. They offer interesting sessions that get rav reviews from my child. The Director is prompt to answer questions by email and also is onsite during camp times. She really gets to know the children and has tidbits of information to share about my child at pick up on what happened during the day. I give iCode a big high five.

Our son had a marvelous experience and came out saying "I LOVED IT". The next day he was making sure we left on time to arrive in a timely fashion. We are so pleased with the camp at icode and will be back!

Disappointing experience with inappropriate content If I could give this business 0 stars I would. We signed our daughter up for a one week YouTube camp that was advertised for 7-11 year olds. We were very excited about the potential of this experience for our daughter given the STEM focus. On the first day she returned home in tears. She said she didn’t understand a lot of what was being discussed in the camp and was asked to complete a multi-page intake form, with technical language that was considerably more advanced than a 7 year old reading level. Our daughter shared that when she asked for help, she was basically dismissed by the instructor and told we are moving on. My husband immediately emailed the director and expressed his concerns. We received a response and were cautiously optimistic. The next day, when he dropped her off for day 2 of the camp, he went in to talk to the iCode Director and her camp instructor. He asked to see the form and confirmed that even some adults would have difficulty answering some of the questions. Throughout the week we asked for updates about her experience. She said she was having fun but noted that the older kids were using profanity in the camp (f-word and s-word) and despite the counselors attempts to tell them to stop they didn’t listen. While not an ideal learning environment for a seven year old we thought ok, one week. You can’t control what other kids do. This Friday, the last day of camp, we received pictures and videos documenting the experience and the final camp video project. With full understanding of trying to allow kids to be creative and make their own stories and express themselves, we feel the project was wholly inappropriate. We watched our daughter pretend to be a criminal breaking into a building to conduct a heist while having a gun fight with some other kids, during which she killed them.  There was even the sound of gunshots in the video. This kind of imagery and violence is extremely outside the values of what we teach and stress in our household. And as a parent I was incensed that this was allowed to happen at an enrichment camp that we paid for our child to attend. Our daughter went along with it though she says she knew it was not something kids should do. We know the kids pick their own stories, but some level of adult supervision should guide them to create content that is age appropriate and that doesn’t promote violence. We gave this feedback to the iCode leadership team via email and indicated a willingness to discuss. Their response was to acknowledge that they received the feedback, called it unfortunate that the camp didn’t meet our expectations, invited us to sign up for another camp, and wished us all the best. We felt the response was generic and inadequate which is why we felt compelled to inform the public about this experience. Also, we didn’t ask for a refund because it’s not about the money, it’s about accountability. Therefore, we regret our participation in the iCode camp and do not recommend you send your child to this establishment. There seems to be a considerable lack of common sense leadership and supervision. They need to hire better trained counselors who can not only control their classrooms but have a level of discernment about what’s appropriate for children. We support the aim of creative expression and extracurricular education, but this operation needs to seriously evaluate how their programming is implemented and what the kids are allowed to do, see, and learn.
