Nothing in this city compares to what Hutchins Academy offers. In fact, there's nothing in the entire Tri-state area that comes close. When schools removed subjects like home economics, shop, and typing from the curriculum, they also lost the invaluable components that came with them—soft skills, career exploration, and practical handiness. These subjects helped shape well-rounded adults who were equipped with the tools of life. Hutchins Academy is the place to send your kids if you want them to be mentored and inspired. While the sense of community from the "Village" of the 60s through the mid-80s may have faded, it has been revived through this exceptional program.

I think Hutchins Academy is filling a great need in our community. Students need mentorship and exposure to information and resources. Hutchins has focused on goal setting, planning and College prep. It strives to help students identify and develop their gifts and plan for the future. It is preparing them to be the leaders of tomorrow.

If you are anywhere near the area and have children of age preparing for college, I would suggest you look into signing them up for Hutchins Academy. Not only will the curriculum, activities, and events prepare them for college, but also LIFE. Access and exposure to the world in a loving and culturally supportive environment. With millions locked down in scholarships for young men and women, Hutchins Academy has proven results.

You will not find a program like Hutchins Academy anywhere in Chattanooga or the surrounding area. The individualized, comprehensive plan that each mentee receives is unmatched. This program helps students prepare for scholarships, the fafsa, and even apply to college. The college admission process is more competitive than before, especially if you are seeking substantial financial assistance and this program definitely made sure my son was prepared in every aspect.  Things have changed so much since we went through this process, so we were relieved to have someone knowledgeable to help him. He will be going to college this fall debt free. Thank you! I can't recommend this program enough.

Hutchins Academy is a program like no other I have seen in Chattanooga. Marie is helping to send young, black kids in our communities to the colleges of their dreams with large scholarships! Hutchins Academy is great for students serious about college prep.

Loving, Caring, Knowledgeable, and more! Most of today's youth are lost and misguided. However, when you have a place like Hutchins Academy, it's like home away from home. The youth are working hard and enjoying themselves, while building integrity, responsibility, honesty, and more. Marie Mott could not love the children any less than as if they were her on. From academic planning (present and future), breaking past cycles, emotional stability, and learning to deal with cultural interference in the world, they are becoming well prepared to address and progress in situations that may arise. Friendships, scholarships, confidence building, generational curse breaking, career planning, and more the Hutchins Academy is truly remarkable for our young scholars. I couldn't ask for a better mentor/program for my children.
