Very disappointing experience with the MA (Michelle) I had a very confusing and frustrating experience at this office. During my visit yesterday, my dermatologist clearly explained my treatment plan: continue using the clindamycin I already have, start tretinoin at night, and take doxycycline and spironolactone. Metronidazole was never mentioned at all. However, when I picked up my prescriptions today, I was given Metronidazole lotion instead, with pharmacy instructions saying "Apply twice a day." This did not match anything the doctor told me, so I returned to the office to get clarification. When I asked, the MA, Michelle, told me I should use "either clindamycin OR metronidazole," even though the doctor had never discussed metronidazole with me. I then asked how I was supposed to use it — especially since the label said twice a day and I didn’t know where it would fit in my routine. Michelle said to use it only once a day and that she didn’t know why the pharmacy instructions said twice a day. This proved that if I hadn’t come back to ask, I would have used the medication incorrectly. Despite all of this, Michelle did not let me finish speaking. She turned her back and walked away to assist another patient while I was trying to explain why I was confused. Her dismissive attitude made the entire situation even more frustrating. My confusion was completely valid — the medication I received did not match the treatment plan explained to me, and the printed instructions were wrong. I expect clear and respectful communication, especially when dealing with prescriptions. I left feeling dismissed instead of supported. I hope this feedback helps improve patient care and communication in the future.
