I’ve taken my daughter in the past for a curly cut which was fine. This past week I took her back for a curly cut for her bday. The original stylist was not there. I asked if there was anyone who specializes in CURLY CUTS. We were referred to Evelyn. I met my daughter there and immediately knew this was a mistake. My daughter’s hair was wet which is not typical for a curly cut for someone with tight curls. This lady butchers her hair for a total of 15 minutes and tells me it’s going to be $55. I said that there is no way I’m paying $55 for a cut that’s equivalent to Betty and Nick’s. At this point, my daughter is in tears because she has also recognized that her haircut is an atrocity. So the manager comes over, and I explained that the purpose of a curly cut is for shaping to take place however, no one understood what I meant by shaping, which was further frustrating because I specifically asked about a curly cut. Their solution was to add layers. I eventually had to pull her from the chair because she just kept going shorter and shorter. Not only was the haircut horrible Evelyn’s bedside manners were horrible. She reeked of cigarettes and kept calling my daughter "the little girl". She slapped on so much product on her hair that my daughter smelled like walking hairspray/alcohol hair products and by the time we got to my house to wash off this mess my daughter’s hair was so dry. Evelyn seems so frazzled that she did not even show my daughter the back of her hair when the cut was done and then had the nerve to ask me. Does she want to see the back of it well yeah of course when you get your haircut, I think anyone would want to see what you’ve just done or in this case didn’t do. The manager Mia did try her best to make the situation better and discounted the cut to $30. The next day We went to her original stylist who attempted to fix the disaster that Evelyn did on my poor daughter’s hair. If you are looking for a true curly cut, I would not go to Evelyn if you see the pictures I’ve added there is no way I would even pay $30 to leave a salon looking like that. I would not even pay a dollar for that mess. I don’t think we will be returning which is unfortunate because the original stylist was the complete opposite, understood shaping, and cut her hair dry. Gallery of Hair, please improve the experience. Anyone who leaves the salon should always feel beautiful when they walk out that door shame on that stylist for allowing my daughter to walk out of that salon the way she did the day before her birthday. Horrible! I asked ChatGPT what it thinks of this haircut. Response below! Where it could be better 👀 • The shape is very bottom-heavy → it’s creating a bit of a rounded/triangle look • The ends look uneven and bulky, especially across the back • Not enough internal layers, so curls are stacking instead of cascading • The top could use a little lift or contouring so it doesn’t fall flat compared to the bottom My honest take This looks like a standard wet cut on curly hair, not a true curly cut. It’s not bad—but it’s not maximizing your curls either. What would level this up ✨ If you went to a curl specialist, I’d ask for: • Dry curl-by-curl shaping • Soft rounded layers, especially through the back • Slight de-bulking at the ends (NOT thinning shears everywhere) • A more intentional shape—rounded or oval, not straight across
Dolly did an incredible job styling my hair based off the reference pic I showed. I went in for a full color treatment and she gave amazing advice to achieve the look I wanted. We ended up tweaking a few things and it came out even better than the reference pic. Very friendly and approachable. Overall a great experience! I can’t wait to go back.
Sari over processed my cousins virgin curly hair! Her scalp was burning under the dryer and he proceeded to say "5 more minutes" he then over toned AFTER over processing and turned her hair gray and purple from her ROOTS! The whole back of her head is PURPLE! After seeing how over toned her hair was, he did not offer anything to fix all of the fluctuations of color. She has homecoming this weekend and cannot go looking like this!
Vee did an amazing job fixing my hair color! I used to have blue & purple hair +my natural color roots so it was quite a challenge. She was very patient and I could see how she actually likes what she’s doing. I would totally come back.
Suzie is amazing! I came in with very long hair, looking for a change. She took the time to hear my wishes and explain what would work and what might not work. I left with a glorious head of hair! Perfect layers and curtain bangs. And her blowouts are legendary! I can’t stop looking at my new hair. I feel like a new woman! Thank you Suzie! And also thank you to the staff who make appointments and greet me at the front. They are always so sweet, courteous and professional. I really appreciate all of you! Cheers!
I don’t remember his name, but I had a male stylist and he is just awesome at his job! My haircut is a bit different from the photo I wanted BUT it’s even better than what I wanted! Truly amazing and got compliments on my blue hair dye..plus lollipops. 10/10
Previous Long time customer that just came back. Truly disappointed. There is no consistency in price. Each time I go, I get the same thing each time, but yet the price fluctuates and I see the same person everytime. Is the price based on the persons mood?! Took my friend for a trim with a different stylist, and they charged her $60, INSANE! Her hair is shorter than mine, no layers. I have longer hair with layers and I do not pay that much! So the price depends on the stylist? Don’t think I will return or recommend this place to anyone again
