For non typical students. (i never waste time writing reviews but Im hoping i save some people from this place) If you are trying to rebuild your life, didnt get fafsa approved, and your credit is too low for student loans. I am here to tell you DONT TRY TO REBUILD IN THIS FACILITY. I am 37 and trying to better my life, and had I know before applying here what I know NOW, I would have ran the opposite way. DO NOT GO HERE.!!! Make the extra drive to go ANYWHERE else!!! This place does not care about you, you are only a money sign to them!!!!!! I was in my last semester here, WAS! and what I mean by this is, I was 1 week into the semester when they PULLED my classes. Thats right. My last semester there and they took my classes after I gave nearly 3k towards a 5k semester. They said my balance had to be under 1k in order for me to get my classes back. WHILE ALSO HAVING A DIPLOMA HOLD on me, I understand the diploma hold while still having a balance and I respect it, by all means, however I COULDNT EVEN GET TO THAT!!!! I COULDNT EVEN REACH THE DIPLOMA HOLD BECAUSE THEY PULLED MY CLASSES.... ON. MY. LAST SEMESTER!!!!!! Can I tell you that I even emailed the CFO for help, never got a response. I have done 4 semesters here and EVERY. SINGLE. SEMESTER, EVERYSINGLESEMSTER, there was an issue outside my control and not just with tuition and their go to was to mess with my classes. If you call the same department twice, youll get 2 different people and NEVER the same answer. I was here when they were redoing their whole website. I HAD TO WAIT A WHOLE SEMESTER TO EVEN START BECAUSE ALL OF MY ADMISSION STUFF WENT MISSING DURING WEBSITE UPDATE. They destroy you by coming after your classes. Theres a reason why their drop out rates are 47%. It all makes perfect sense! If you find ONE human that cares that isnt a professor, you've hit the lottery!
Having closely monitored the trajectory of Florida Atlantic University through the lenses of various friends and local professionals, it is clear that the Boca Raton campus has transformed into a dynamic epicenter for innovation and upward mobility. The prevailing sentiment in my social circles suggests that FAU offers a sophisticated blend of high-level research and a supportive, student-centric culture that is rare for an institution of its size. I frequently hear from acquaintances about the university’s exceptional ability to foster real-world connections, particularly within the business and engineering sectors, ensuring that the transition from the classroom to the Florida job market is both seamless and rewarding. It is heartening to hear firsthand accounts of how the faculty at 777 Glades Road balances academic rigor with a genuine accessibility that makes diverse learners feel empowered to reach their full potential. Based on the many positive testimonials I’ve encountered, there is a profound respect for the way the university serves as a cultural and intellectual anchor for the entire region while steadily climbing the national rankings. One cannot help but be impressed by the university's forward-thinking approach to specialized fields like oceanography and nursing, which many in my network cite as being truly world-class. Ultimately, the consistent feedback from those I trust confirms that FAU is a premier destination for anyone seeking a modern, transformative education that stays deeply attuned to the demands of the 21st century.

Absolute atrocity of a university. From beginning to end. Not to mention, the process of scheduling an academic advising appointment on Navigate 360 hasn’t worked for years. In general, being a student here has been a frustrating experience. There are not enough professors to teach classes leading to extremely tight schedules offering no flexibility whatsoever. I have had to endure 12 hour days at this uni because of it. On top of having a shortage of professors, a lot of the professors can barely teach. I’ve had professors that seem genuinely confused by what they’re teaching. I’ve had instances where they’ve attempted to teach and explain examples only to look at the solutions and realise they were wrong. Then, going back and reading in an attempt to understand what he’s already supposed to know. I understand making mistakes every now and then, but it was too frequent to justify. Another issue amongst these professors is the habitual use of outdated material (2005-2010), especially in a field that is rapidly growing and changing. There’s so much more I would like to say regarding the professors but I need to address and voice some of my other concerns too. Parking situation is terrible, filthy restrooms in every building (broken toilets, faucets, no soap), some of the classes themselves are disgustingly muggy and warm. As a student here, I feel as if a lot of the funding doesn’t go towards fixing the root problems. Maybe it does but there have been no apparent improvements to the quality of teaching here. At the end of the day, that’s what I’m here for. On another note, I would like to commend the few well-knowledged professors at this institution. There’s nothing more rewarding than having a professor who truly knows how to teach. One that has a well-structured, well planned out class with up-to-date information. One that challenges you and ensures the future success of each hard-working student. I am highly grateful for professors who are passionate about their jobs and truly know how to teach, and also want to teach. Overall, I feel failed by this university. Maybe it’s simply an issue with my field of study. There’s a plethora of issues that I didn’t even address. I sincerely don’t recommend studying here. This borderline feels like a scam (I wish I was being dramatic). Do your research and choose wisely, maybe it’s like I stated above, "simply an issue with my field of study." Back when I was younger, I was reading the reviews on here and saw the mention of "FAU means - find another university." I disregarded it believing it was dramatised; however, I soon realised how accurate that statement stood to be.
I didn't go to FAU, I drove by FAU. My memory's being a student. There are all good. Professional educators, excellent professors, and core student body that's good. A lot of changed over to years including now, a football stadium. I did not think they needed a football stadium, but it seems to attract another set of people willing to spend money there. "Go Owls"
If you are reading through these reviews and see some particularly low ones, please do not discount them. Frankly, their system for advising (Navigate360) is nothing short of abysmal. And they have no intention of fixing it or updating it. You will not be treated like a student, but a customer with a ticket number. They do everything in their power to not speak with you and provide the most minimal service possible. Note, that they continually do not have enough funds to provide adequate personnel to the over abundance of students however Dean and Administrative salaries continue to tick-up year after year. I genuinely advise anyone looking to go here to consider options where the staff and professors meet the standards and needs of their students; both current and incoming. This is a prefect poster child of the failing U.S. higher education system. State funds have been slowly drying up so their solution is to simply just keep raising tuition. Without addressing the deteriorating quality of their courses and professors, administrative bloat and backsliding, disgustingly overblown athletic budgets and salaries (two of the highest paid employees are coaches), or its disorganized, chaotic and self-referential online environments. Simply put, please do your research. I am a returning student and even I am shocked at the reduction of quality this school has experienced. What used to be a principled beacon of quality education for an affordable price within greater South Florida has become nothing more than a business operation in making money off of the very students it claims it wants to help. Community College degrees provide the same state certified accreditation, whilst often providing more individual care. Trade and Technical schools take only 6 months to 2 years to compete, depending on the field of course. Do not allow them to convince you that you need anything from them.
Had a great time at the basketball game. Easy to get in and out of the facility. The seats were great and atmosphere was fun. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a college, basketball or sporting experience.
