If I could give less stars I would. When I initially called to set up the appointment, no one picked up so I left a voicemail and never received a call back. I ended up calling them again because that’s where my doctor had given me a referral. The second time I called back I was set up with an appointment and gave them all my information on my insurance and was told we were good to go. The day of my appointment I arrived early filled out the information and paid my co-pay. I sat for 15 minutes before they came to tell me that they actually do not take my insurance so if I want to be seen. I will now have to pay 150 out-of-pocket. This is extremely aggravating as I am a new mom and have to bring my teething baby with me to find out that they don’t take my insurance like they said they do. Personally, I feel like they should’ve been able to know they didn’t take my insurance when I gave them that information over the phone when making the appointment. I shouldn’t have to drive 30 minutes with a teething baby, pay my co-pay, fill out all my paper work and wait for 15 minutes before they come out telling me that they actually don’t take my information. Really don’t understand how they couldn’t have figured this out prior to my appointment day.
My daughter has been going here for 2 months now and they made her drive all the way to Joliet to her appointment and they told her it was a free appointment because it’s a medication change and when she got there they told her she has a balance which she paid fine but then once she paid they told her they will not see her today because our insurance didn’t send the payment yet to them but I confirmed from insurance that payment was sent to them last week and should receive this week but since they never received it yet they refused her to be seen crazy I will not allow her to go back there at all
Unfortunately I had the displeasure of working with this office. They called way ahead of time to take my insurance numbers and referral codes so they could verify everything. I thought I was clear because they said they were in network and set it up. I waited 30+ minutes to be seen the day of the appointment and then they said they didn’t have the staff to perform the biopsy that I specifically came for. I would have to come back and pay for a second appointment when then hired someone who could assist for them to do it. They said it would only be 2 weeks so I agreed to wait. It took them three months to follow up. At that time they said they were wrong about being in network and I have to pay cash for everything. Now I have angry office employees calling to harass me for not knowing I wasn’t in network, even though their own staff told me I was. They’re demanding the cash and threatening to sue me over $200 that was their mistake in the first place. I asked them to send a letter to explain the billing and he told me I already understood so he’ll sue me instead. I was in the middle of a crowded store and legitimately couldn’t understand the way he was trying to explain it. It’s honestly kind of embarrassing treating patients that way. They insist they wouldn’t have verified insurance beforehand like that (which is weird for any medical office to not do?) To make it worse, they first said it was my balance after insurance paid, and then she said it was because I hadn’t met my copay, and then they said nothing was covered because it’s out of network. They gave three different reasons, and even admitted to "being wrong" about the previous reason aka lying to see if I’d pay. This is literally why I asked for a letter explaining their billing because they kept changing the story and its hard keeping up (also something about if I call my insurance to have them cover it then I could pay them $140, which doesn’t make sense either but again he refused to send an explanation). So I guess only use them if you want them to schedule you knowing they don’t have the staff to do the procedure you said you need (extra visit $$$) and shady billing practices.
I was a bit concerned about making a long trip to the Joliet office, but was pleasantly surprised to meet such a friendly and efficient staff. Each and every member of the team I encountered were very knowledgeable of their task. My appointment was right on time and TT took down all the preliminary information I gave her with kind empathy. Beth listened attentively to my medical problem and addressed it in a timely manner with the appropriate prescriptions needed. I was happy that she wanted a follow-up visit to evaluate my progress with the medications. Upon leaving, Mindy graciously offered to set up my next appointment in Orland and wrote out the directions to the location. I left feeling so much better with the care I received by the great staff!! Many thanks!
I have been coming to Fine Skin Dermatology for a little over a decade and have seen Cassie for the past 4 years. She is thorough, gives honest feedback and I never feel rushed during my appointments. She is wonderful and I recommend her to anyone inquiring about a dermatologist.
I have been going to Fine Skin Dermatology for years and I highly recommend them. I started with Dr Bhatt and have been for a few years now seeing Cassie who is so nice and caring. I have recommended her to my friends and family and they are happy with her too.
Made appointment with them, then read the reviews. No way I want to mess up my face here with them. Someone called to confirm my appointment, I asked them to cancel and the person said "k" and hung up. Super unprofessional just from the phone calls. Parents have been here and say it's a dump, they don't recommend.
