Why did I literally lose energy after a perfect lesson? Energy just dropped to my android and mistakes (or perfections) that didn't cost me hearts before, now cost me energy. Just be aware.... Also just wanna say, the course refreshers stink. Having made it pretty far through the course, there is a lot that could be reviewed and some things that probably need to be reviewed, but the content Duolingo has decided I need to review is from the very first section, level 5 or wherever their numbering starts. At least customize it so I can review content from the last several sections or so! I do not need to waste energy reviewing the absolute basics.
To be sure there is no mistake in translation. Congrats, your AI is more than useless, worse it makes huge mistakes in French : impossible translations, makes no sense, word combinations that doesn’t exist in French. And when you ask for help it makes you go the wrong way. What can I say about the energy bar ? Let’s be honest, if you wanna make us pay, say it. Don’t wriggle like a fish on dry land. I loved your app. Now I start to hate it and discourage most people to use it. I just want to end it on 666 days and 15000 gens I cannot purchase with or help people in any way. If that wasn’t clear enough, you are going wrong. And that’s a shame I loved your app before.
The new software modifications, "battery" 🪫, makes the app unusable. Don't waste your time, data or hardrive space. You can get through precisely 1.5 lessons. The hearts system didn't punish users for getting correct answers.
If you use the app, there's no way to report mistakes on stories. Exciter, does mean excited, but it's more like a aroused. So, please explain this to me. I don't know if you can read this as part of the review, but I attached a picture. Please stop using that word.
This company is run by scammers and has no real customer service as everything is AI generated. They falsely advertise their products and don’t respond to emails when questioned about this issue. The biggest issue being with their super family plan that they advertise at a price of $9.99 a month but don’t actually offer that service on a monthly subscription instead charging $119 upfront for a full year. They also charge early for their products that are supposed to have a 7 day free trial (I was charged on day 6) and they refuse refunds. Their website is also a mess that will give only AI generated answers and links that lead to anything but a cancellation making it impossible to cancel your subscription or free trial.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience taking the Duolingo English Test (DET). I have taken the exam three times, and each attempt was marked "invalid" for the same unexplained reason: a third-party application was running in the background. Duolingo does not disclose which specific application triggered the issue, making it impossible for test-takers to identify and remove the problem before retaking the test. Before every attempt, I carefully followed all of Duolingo’s instructions, reviewed their official guidelines and videos, and configured my laptop exactly as required. Despite this, the same problem occurred each time. This process has been extremely frustrating, time-consuming, and costly. As customers, we deserve transparency and clear guidance—especially when our academic and immigration timelines depend on it. Duolingo needs to improve its system and provide clearer feedback so test-takers can successfully meet the requirements
This software is great, but it needs a small change: change the energy bar to five stars (hearts). That's what I like. When will you bring back the five stars? Thanks!
