We just started school here, and the joy and humility in the building is almost disarming. "What's the catch?" my wife and I keep asking. I don't think there is one - these teachers and admin genuinely want to be there and to support each other! It's contagious. The faculty are reading "How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen" (Brooks) which perfectly embodies the culture they're building. If this sounds like your family, I hope you'll join us at CSLA!

Just went to my granddaughters graduation. Kindergarten. Could not believe out of every single child, she did not get recognized, or diploma. I'm sure teacher felt like crap, but could they not take head count? They certainly make sure parents dedicate their time, but really?? So desipointed. Glad my grandchild wasn't desipointed. What an embarrassment I would have made. Wow.

I visited this school the other night for a basketball game. The facilities are exceptionally nice. The gate and concession workers and staff were all nice. However, there was a larger group of boys from the CSLA fan base on the home side, (bottom left corner of the stands when looking from guest side) that were an embarrassment for CSLA. For almost the entirety of the girls basketball game and the entirety of the boys game, these boys were saying/yelling very nasty things about our players. I understand it’s a sporting event that is competitive and it’s totally fine and acceptable to cheer and be loud and get excited at sporting events. But for a high school game, keep the unnecessary and mean comments to yourself. There’s enough bullying going on during school, don’t bring it sporting events too. These "tough guys" sure did have a lot to say while all sitting from the stands in one large group and I’m guessing that made them feel pretty big and powerful. But as an outsider, that behavior is cringey and embarrassing. These students need a lesson in fan etiquette. Their basketball team was great and at one point about 20 points ahead of ours and these fan boys were still being over the top. I’m sure CSLA is an awesome school with some amazing students….I was impressed with the players, so to see these boys act this way was not what I expected. I’d like to also add there was a girl on the CSLA basketball team with exceptional sportsmanship (I think she was #32) - she helped one of our players up from a fall, and that speaks volumes about her and gives us parents hope that there are good kids out there.

Overall wish I could honestly give this school an even more lower rating. The staff here are incredibly snooty and rude, they put on an act that they care for everyone and its a loving and caring community but it’s not. Please do not send your kid here. Unless they’re a gifted student, very discriminating towards kids with learning problems, mental health, and those coming from a low background. Mental heath in this school generally doesn’t exist, they only want to prioritize school work over our kids general well being. Save your money and time and generally your kids mental. Regretted sending my kid to this school. If this school ever gets on the newspaper again due to a child whos mental stability isn’t well ends up doing something to themselves I don’t want to hear any of the staff or the principal give condolence’s or say they tried because they didn’t. Horrible school. Especially after commenting that general well being isn’t any of y’alls concern.

Our visit to the school was interesting. The school has some great students and respectful on and off the field. Would love for the Hamilton county school system update this school. The only complaint that we have is having the ability to actually get into the parking lot on time for the pregame. It is a traffic jam and needs 1 person to help with school traffic and then another helping with game parking. It took 15- 20 minutes to get into the parking lot from the traffic light that is about 100 yards away.

If you're an A typical, have a twice exceptional student, or a gifted student you will do well here. If not, don't waste your time, hope, or your child's self esteem! The students are friendly, the teachers are the problem. If your child isn't able to conform they will fail your child.

I am a student at CSLA, and it is a great institution. The teachers here really care about the learning of their students, and everyone is super nice. I have learned a lot here.
