This was my first time here as a vegetable and it's such an amazing feeling looking at a menu where all the food is "safe". Everything is also clearly labeled for vegans and gluten free people!

Had dinner during visit to Yale. Loved that the restaurant has lots of vegetarian choices. Lots of pizza, pasta and salad options. Made fresh . Friendly staff. Lovely decor and ambiance.

Anytime we visit family in New Haven area, we make a point of having lunch at Claire's, especially after a night of pizza! Order at the counter, bus your table. Food is fabulous and healthy, portions are large. Tip - salads and soups come with a small loaf of bread, you can ask to leave it off your order. I didn't try and substitute, just didn't want it because the salad is large and has croutons. You can get a to-go box for leftovers. Tea selection was good and water was hot.

Highly recommend the eggplant parm and baked goods. Highly discourage ordering the chai latte and bread roll that comes with the entrees. There’s a huge menu and it’s perfect for groups with mixed diets.

Claire's restaurant was our first visit when we arrived in New Haven. It's in a great location. We enjoyed our visit there for breakfast with our friends. We were very surprised to see the menu had no prices posted. We were very shocked at the price for a plate of pancakes, 2 orders cost $50. A small little cranberry muffin $7+. Please post the price for the menu so people won't be surprised when they get the check. Safe to say we won't be returning back to eat here again.

Made this our #1 to try for an overnight in town. The place itself reminds me of coop restaurants from the NE and WC. Seems like the entire team is behind their service and what they're serving up. The whole place feels like an oasis of rooted morale in good service, community, and a warm welcome vibe that is perfect! Ordered a Fire Island sandwich. Massive! Had to wrap up half and eat it later (sooner than later cuz it was too good to wait). Wish they were at home. But definitely stopping by on our next trip to the area.

I am a local and native of New Haven, CT, I walk past Claire’s all the time and for the first time I finally tried it. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The quality of the food and portion size is fantastic. They use the freshest ingredients and they make their food with pure LOVE!!! The staff was so friendly to me. I love how they call you by name while bringing you your food. I felt like family. The food and service was so good, I keep coming back. They also have a plethora of Vegan, Gluten free, & Vegetarian options which I appreciate. Thank you! I am a new recurring customer and this is officially one of my favorite restaurants in downtown New Haven!!! Highly recommend !!!
