Love Caring Hands Centreville - the staff and doctors are awesome. We've taken all of our cats here for the last 15 years. They are wonderful and take great care of the critters. Special shout out to Dr. Pohle who has been great with Heifer!
I came in for a yearly checkup for my 2 cats after recently moving to the area. Dr. Caleb Minger did a wonderful job making them feel comfortable and relaxed. He administered thier vaccines while they happily snacked away on a Churu. Previous vets have had to forcibly restrain my cats to administer vaccines, but my cats didn't even know they were getting shots since he was so gentle! Dr. Minger talked at length with me on some concerns I had about one of my cats and offered behavioral advice from both a professional and personal background. You can tell he really cares about animals and understand what it is like to be a pet parent. Caring Hands did not try to push any products, additional testing, or medications on me during my visit. They let me know my options if I wanted to pursue them, but were supportive of me trying at-home behavioral methods. The exam room was clean and everyone was so friendly. With such good service, I was nervous the cost would be high, but it was very reasonable! I am happy Caring Hands is right down the road from me and I will be returning to them for all my future pet needs!
I scheduled an appointment here based on a recommendation from a fellow dog owner that I chat with during daily walks with my dog. I really appreciated their online booking system. It was very easy to navigate and very convenient. I also appreciated how they had early evening appointments available, which really helped with my work schedule. We saw Kathleen and Dr. Swart, who were both so welcoming and kind! They listened to my concerns and offered guidance as to next steps. My dog Barney immediately fell in love with everyone in the office! I also really appreciated their upfront and transparent pricing. The fees were very reasonable. They also let me decide if I wanted further testing or not. There was zero pressure. Only support and love. I think we have found our "furever home" with this practice! Thank you for a great visit.
Thank you to Dr. Pohle and the Caring Hands team for the wonderful care they provide to my dog Canyon. Canyon is anxious at the vet and the whole team always takes extra care to make him feel comfortable. This week Canyon had his teeth cleaned and had several skin tags removed, and Dr. Pohle allowed me to remain while he was sedated, which kept him calmer. Dr. Pohle followed up with me after the surgery and explained in detail the procedure and the results. She is always patient when answering questions and I never feel rushed during calls. I was confident that Canyon was resting comfortably until I could pick him up later in the day. Dr. Pohle and the Caring Hands team consistently create a warm and welcoming environment while addressing veterinary issues. I feel fortunate to have found an excellent vet in this area and will continue to have Canyon and my two kitties seen by them.
I have 3 cats go to this practice. The staff are helpful and the veterinaries are knowledgeable and gentle to them. Price are reasonable. Exam room is clean and with a lot of informational posters. Definitely recommended.
20250725 DR CLENDENIN IS THE BEST VET HERE!! And Dr Katz is my 2nd choice, because she's wonderful, too! They are the ONLY 2 vets I trust. I read some negative reviews on here and not sure which vet they saw. Dr Clendenin is the best vet here, and I also have great experience with Dr Katz. I tried seeing other vets at this location with some of my pets when Dr Clendenin and Dr Katz are not available, and I feel their expertise are not up to par comparing to Dr Clendenin, and Dr Katz. Their medicine prices are higher, when comparing to online. I usually get the first one here, and if I needed more, Dr Clendenin always make recommendations of places I can get the meds at lower prices even send me links. One of my girls has diabetes, Cushing's Disease, heart murmur, tumors, etc... and the meds can add up fast! I ordered online Chewy as recommended by Dr Clendenin, and the hospital is very responsive in approving the medication. For the glucose sensors, they would call in the prescription to the pharmacy of my choice, and even give me a vet insurance discount!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ I have been a client at Caring Hands Centreville since 2013. I met Dr Vitulli in 1996 at another hospital. She was so wonderful to my sick chihuahua, Charlie, back then, always patience, understanding and supportive - including returning my calls at 1 am!! Years later, Dr Vitulli opened this location. Because of location convenience, I didn't start coming here Caring Hands until I felt the sevices of the other hospital have gotten worse. I tried Pender prior to coming to Caring Hands, and my dog, Casper, a border collie/aussie mixed, had such a bad experience with his ligament surgery where the vet determined that he needed an arificial ligament. It was a horrible experience from the second I dropped him off. Long story short, I remember Dr Vitulli, and gave her a call, who commented that she would have recommended a specialist because the surgery involves the bone. Casper had a TPLO at a specialist and the entire process was 180 degrees from Pender. I never left Caring Hands since. At first, Casper was under the care of Dr. Campfield and Dr Streck. They were my favorite vets and the best. Unfortunate, they left to work at different Caring Hands, Arlington and Maryland, respectively. Then I found Dr Clendenin, who is just as wonderful as Dr Campfield and Dr Streck. Several vets have cared for my pets when Dr. Clendenin wasn't available, and I couldn't connect with them. Dr Clendenin is very caring, attentive, responsive and knowledgeable. I hope she will stay at this location for a long long time.
Dr. Megan Clendenin at Caring Hands Animal Hospital has taken care of all of our pets for almost two decades. She is knowledgeable, professional, skilled, caring, and communicative. Any time we are concerned about our pets she has helped us to understand the problem, detailed diagnostic needs, developed a stepwise treatment plan, and answered all of our questions. This isn't easy with the medical complexities that our current dog, Ferdi, has but she makes it feel seamless. She also lets us know when not to worry and when there is no need for further workup. She follows up with us in person or over the phone about test results and any additional concerns. We feel quite fortunate to have her at the head of our pets' health, knowing that she will leave no stone unturned and their wellbeing will always be prioritized. We secretly hope she never retires.
