I attend the horticulture tech program, grad 2016. Small diverse class size. Hands on learning field trips & onsite. A vast coverage of careers options in horticulture. Great experience. Several career programs offered. Job placement.
Was extremely interested in their horticulture program but they just ignored my request for info and contact I guess. I'm so disappointed.
Sadly this place is run by white women who think they understand the needs of their student body. They do not. At all. In ANY capacity. I believe the director is Dr. Kim or Kimberly… the people under her, Audra, Regina, etc. they should all be replaced. They tell you they have a lot of support but they don’t. It’s a lie so you will enroll and then when life happens they get to keep the ~$13k they get for your spot. For this reason alone I can’t suggest people to go here. The teachers are amazing though.
Great outcomes don’t require more — just better use of what’s already in your hands. Bidwell provides everything you need to succeed. All that’s required is respect for the rules, discipline, and the willingness to seek help when needed. Some people, unfortunately, gave up or dropped out simply because they lacked discipline. Others disobeyed the rules — whether it was attendance, meeting assignment deadlines, or not following the code of conduct. But that’s not unique to Bidwell; any institution has standards that must be upheld which require the same outcome if disobeyed. Any institution will have a small population of those that could not make it to the end. The difference is, Bidwell does have the resources, and they are used exceptionally well. Bidwell does put their students first. Bidwell does care about your future. Are you willing to challenge yourself? Bidwell stepped in and supported me without hesitation. You pay for NOTHING not even your background checks for employment and they have resources readily available if you can't affrod to do your Drug test or physical. Their willingness to help and invest in their students is something I can attest to. The team at Bidwell is dedicated to producing successful graduates — but it is a partnership. You have to do your part: show up, respect the rules, be open, and take full advantage of what’s offered. I’m sure many of my peers would agree — this organization has helped us grow both personally and professionally. Yes, everyone’s experience will be different, but what truly matters is how you choose to use the resources and support available to you. If you remain silent, complacent, or unwilling to ask for help, how do you expect to receive it? Bidwell offers support in every area — from mental health sessions to transportation assistance, childcare, housing, food, and a dedicated team focused on helping you become your best self. But none of that matters if you don’t keep a positive, open mind and do your part. Being a student at this institution isn’t hard — it’s about accountability. Rules are not meant to restrict you, but to promote good conduct, professional growth, and a strong work ethic. At Bidwell, success is possible — but you have to meet it halfway.
Our daughter Sarah will hopfully be starting here in September of this year. It's her life long passion to go into the culinary field. She has a true gift. She can not wait to get her start on her adventure. We toured the facility, met some of the faculty and she has taken the entrance exam a few months ago. She went online to send the documents through the portal multipal times. She then emailed someone because she didn't hear back. She was told the class is full and she will be put on a waiting list. She is very upset because she did her part on time. She had her hopes up to attend this September because the miscommunication she's not able. Please if there's an adjustment that can be made it will be most appreciated. Thank you.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear from this shady school. They’re nothing but liars and on top of that just want to waste your time. I wasted SIX MONTHS OF MY LIFE AT THIS SCHOOL. Only to be kicked from the program I was in. I seriously had all hopes and dreams on the program I was in to get a job in the field I was trying to pursue. Now I’m in serious debt and my bank account is in the negatives from missing my work and losing out on pay I could have gotten to pay my overdue bills!! It was premeditated from the start. They told me not to worry about an externship and focus on my studies for SEVERAL MONTHS. I believed them. When it came time for Mock Interviews, NOT ONCE did they say you needed to be careful with how you performed because it could impact your ability to even work with said externship site. That happened to me and said site no longer wanted to work with me. Now they kicked me for no reason and claimed it was because I had shared my status about my externship issue and that I left the classroom unauthorized. Ironically the leaving of he classroom was authorized by the teacher in charge because another wanted to check up on me. As for the status being shared, everyone in the program was sharing theirs like crazy but not a single thing was said to any of them. On top of that a good chunk of them constantly were cheating on tests and their assignments. That’s another thing about this school, they will prioritize other students and favor them over others. There was a certain individual who was in the program that cursed, refused to wear her uniform and badge, slept in class, never did her assignments and got others to do it for her, was rude to other classmates and teachers, was extremely loud and disruptive and yet was somehow STILL ALLOWED IN THE SCHOOL. She should have been expelled long ago, but god forbid someone mentions they simply felt stressed and pressured about something going on about their externship, they get kicked from the school. I will be seeing an attorney and bringing this to the board of education, mark my words.
Pharmacy tech teacher was very racist and the whole staff supported it. I was there the first week and she would purposely say smart things towards me. The medical director said he’s about helping black people but put me down every chance he got. So many people have something positive to say but honestly I would tell anyone that I know to never go here the support that they give isn’t actual support they say that just to make u feel better
