There’s a reason Dr. Ryan and his wonderful office and support staff have such glowing reviews! My husband and I went to Bellevue Dental Arts while we lived in the area, from 2013 until 2025, and we never had a bad experience. In the course of those 12 years, we both had regular preventive care, as well as extensive corrective and cosmetic dental work done, all of which ended with our having far better dental health and great smiles. Truly, going here changed our lives. You may (but probably won’t easily) find other dentists in the Seattle area who are similarly skilled and lovely to be around, but what stood out to me about Dr. Ryan over time was his curiosity and passion. Maybe it comes from being a third-generation dentist in his family. Whatever it is, he is very interested in his field and constantly staying up to date with what’s new, reliable, and scientific; he does nothing by halves, not even temporary work. (I’ve needed numerous crowns and always marveled at how even his temporary crowns simply felt like better versions of my original teeth, painlessly fitting into my mouth from day one.) He also has many good relationships with other skilled dental specialists he can send you to, when needed. In my experience, this level of quality in healthcare is tragically uncommon. Moreover, Dr. Ryan is the sort who wants to build a relationship with anyone who comes to him regularly. If your mouth/teeth have certain quirks or you have dental anxiety, he and his entire team make a concerted effort to note and remember it so you won’t experience discomfort. I am very sad to have moved and left this dental office behind. I feel so fortunate that I received care here for the time that I did.

When I first went, he saw that my wisdom teeth were still there and treated me very well. But every time I went in for a cleaning, he kept pressuring me to have my wisdom teeth removed. I said my wisdom teeth were fine and I didn’t want to extract them yet. During one cleaning, he deliberately chipped/cracked part of a wisdom tooth while scaling, so it started to deteriorate afterward. When he later extracted the wisdom tooth, he used the adjacent healthy tooth as leverage (I could actually feel it during the extraction). Not long after the wisdom tooth was removed, the tooth next to it became loose. Once a tooth started to feel even slightly loose, instead of trying to figure out how to treat it, he would always recommend extracting it. After your wisdom teeth are gone, you’re no longer "valuable" to him, and he’ll just refer you somewhere else. Re: I NEVER pressure anybody to remove teeth. I ONLY give information to allow patients an ability to make correct decisions. When I heard a tooth that’s only slightly loose needed to be removed, and no discussion on any treatment options at all, I was truly shocked. I couldn’t help thinking: does this dentist only know how to pull teeth and not actually treat them?

I found Dr. Ryan exceedingly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, putting me immediately at ease. Rose Mary and Cindy and all the staff were equally friendly, making this one of my best dental visits. I feel I am in capable hands. —David Spangler

Dr. Chiang, Marisa and the rest of his staff were amazing and wonderful during my first visit. Everyone was very welcoming and professional. I was very impressed with Dr. Chiang. He was very professional, extremely competent, thorough and knowledgeable about all aspects of excellent dental care, and I look forward to continuing to work with Bellevue Dental Arts in the future for my dental care needs. His office is also very beautiful, calming and serene, and contributed to the extremely positive atmosphere of Bellevue Dental Arts.

I needed an emergency repair and was very happy to be seen by Dr Chiang and his crew, since mine were away on vacation. A very positive experience - I would highly recommend them and would definitely go back.
