I am beyond disappointed and honestly disgusted by how I was treated by this office after being a loyal patient for 3 years. After my second pregnancy, I developed extremely painful skin tags on my neck that bleed constantly, get caught in my clothes and hair, and are pulled by my children. I am in daily pain. I was specifically told to come in because if there was medical necessity, they could work with my insurance. I paid my copay, only for Dr. Bilcha to spend less than five minutes telling me it was "cosmetic" and there was nothing he could do. When I pushed back and explained there was documented pain and bleeding, I was sent on a wild goose chase to call my insurance myself. Insurance made it very clear that all this office needed to do was submit a simple prior authorization or predetermination. The office promised they would. Two weeks passed. Nothing was submitted. Meanwhile, they knew my insurance coverage was ending and that time mattered. After repeated calls and messages, I was finally told that "corporate" refuses to submit prior authorizations for skin tags at all — even when insurance says they will review it — and instead offered to remove them for $400 out of pocket. After everything I’ve gone through, they wouldn’t even fill out a form and let insurance decide. They chose money over patient care. I am a mom of two under two, in constant pain and bleeding, and this office made it clear my well-being mattered less than $400. I will never return and strongly warn others: if you value honesty, compassion, and actual medical advocacy, look elsewhere.

Dr. Bilcha is a very good dermatologist however, his front desk staff leaves something to be desired. Dr. Bilcha was ready to do a quick procedure on me that would have taken less than 5 minutes but the front desk staff instead made me go back to the waiting room and then said I would be behind 4 other patients, which means over an hour wait, in addition to the already 45 minutes we had waited up until that time. We ended up rescheduling for a month later and then front office just called me now and said they had to cancel my rescheduled appointment. Very unprofessional. I think Dr. Bilcha is a fine doctor, but I hope he either trains his staff better or gets more competent staff.

Very negative experience with Dr. Bilcha. He's not receptive to patient feedback, even when it's not critical of him personally. When telling him after 4 months of treatment for my 7-year-old kid's dermatitis that putting a thick Vaseline-consistency ointment all over her body twice a day was not practical because she's a child, it rubs off on her clothes, and she's also active, his response was not to listen and consider alternatives but rather to fall back on "this is the standard of care" and "I've been doing this for 20 years" while getting huffy. You'd think someone with 20 years of experience would feel secure enough to hear patient feedback related to issues with treatment so he could consider the problem and offer alternatives, but no such luck. We walked out of his office in the middle of his angry rant. I will be avoiding his office in the future.
