Called to make a new patient appointment a week ago and was told they only see employed uninsured I said great that’s me I would like to make an appointment. She asked if I had insurance I told her no. She proceeded to tell me they would not be able to see me. Said okay and ended the call. I then called the next day thinking "they see employed uninsured I told the lady I was employed with no insurance why won’t they see me" so I called again and spoke with someone different and she had no problem making my appointment. I let her know I did not have medical insurance. I was never asked about dental insurance (which I do have). I made the appointment and get there today, provide proof of income and begin filling out new patient paperwork. As I’m filling out the paperwork one of the front office staff was upset with the other receptionist and was expressing her feelings very loudly standing in the lobby. Telling the other coworker off basically in front of patients. Unprofessional in my opinion. I turn my paperwork in and wait about 15 mins before they call me back up to the desk to ask if I had dental. I proceed to tell her I do have dental but no medical. She states she cannot see me due to me having dental insurance. I told her that my friend who referred me has dental insurance and is seen here all the time. She then states "I don’t know who your friend talked to but it was probably someone new who doesn’t know what they are doing" and points to the other receptionist she was just laying into in front of everyone" I say okay and leave. Upset in my car bc I was so embarrassed this receptionist then CALLS me and says "you need to tell your friend to call us and tell us who she is immediately bc if they find out she has dental insurance during our audit we could be shut down" VERY unprofessional. It is not my job to make sure she doesn’t have insurance. It is YOUR job. YOU are the front line in the office YOU need to make sure patients don’t have insurance. NOT ME. Extremely unprofessional and was never expressed to me that they don’t see patients with dental insurance but no medical insurance.

My sister went here earlier trying to get seen by a dr because they advertise themselves as seeing employed uninsured people, which she is. All she has is DENTAL, not medical. The receptionist rudely told her that they wouldn’t be able to see my sister at all because she solely had dental insurance. Then when my sister gets to her car the receptionist proceeds to call my sister and say that whoever referred her to the dr office needed to call them immediately and tell them that her friend had dental insurance and that they wouldn’t be able to see her friend as well for having solely dental insurance. In my opinion and possibly others as well this was very unprofessional and maybe they shouldn’t advertise as seeing employed people with no insurance if they aren’t actually going to see said employed people with no insurance.

Dr. Kim was awesome, the nurse who took my blood pressure was super polite and helpful with my questions. The ladies at the front desk were nice also. And unlike most of these"free" clinics it was actually free. Of course they accept donations. You must be able to show proof of employment but other than that Dr. Kim is doing something that a lot of people don’t do in the world today. Helping Others!!!! I recommend this office to anybody working with no insurance.
