My experience at Ideal Dermatology was outstanding. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping me get results. They created a treatment plan that really is helping clear up my acne, and I couldn’t be happier with the improvement in my skin. Professional, efficient, and a wonderful overall experience — I highly recommend them!

This practice is amazing. Brook is my dermatologist, but I believe all are great. I sent my daughter after I had a great experience and she was very, very happy after her visit. They are very thorough and spend time listening to you. So happy I found them.

I haven’t seen a dermatologist for a number of years as my old dermatologist sold her business. I had been going to her for over 15 years and having fair Irish skin I saw her every 6 months. Since she wasn’t available to visit again and we moved house I put off finding a new dermatologist. . So I was a bit apprehensive when I made an appointment to see Dr Flaten. I shouldn’t have worried as from the time I walked into her office the staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming! When her medical assistant came to talk with me about any specific spots or issues I might have she put my mind completely at ease and said that Dr Flaten will take the time to talk with me about any issues I might have and about having a full body check. My only regret is that I waited so long to make an appointment to see her. I found her extremely friendly and, of course, very thorough while checking my whole body. She did notice one spot on my neck that concerned her and has sent it off to be biopsied? So if you have any doubts about feeling embarrassed about a full body skin check or a specific spot that concerns you I would highly recommend Dr Flaten in Ideal Dermatology in Boulder A+A+A+

Discriminatory Practice The front desk is combative and discriminatory. Upon arrival, the representative had asked for my Medicaid information. With Medicaid typically I just have to provide the number and they’re able to verify it in the system. She immediately started complaining to me about how a card would be easier for her and that plenty of other people have them. She then mentioned she already had it. So, I brushed it off and tried to move onto the next step. She asked for my ID and I gave it to her. She scoffed and said I need to scan it so I turned the ID to the scanning portion of the app. I guess she didn’t like the format and went on a tangent about how I’m gonna get her in trouble. She wasn’t making a lot of sense. But cool, she handed me an email and I began working on emailing her a copy of my ID. During this time I asked if I should reschedule and that I’m sorry I don’t care about her relationship with her boss I’m just trying to check in. I also have sensory issues and found this whole experience overwhelming by this point. She excitedly asked "do you want to?" I said not really, so she texted me to check in. When she confirmed the phone number, it wasn’t mine. I then continued to get an earful. I told her that they clearly don’t want me as a patient I’m leaving, tossed the papers back onto the desk and left. When I spoke to the supervisor she said that the rep has 35 years experience and trusts her and that they do not wish to have me as a patient. The rep never asked to confirm my Medicaid number, she never asked for the proper phone number before texting and she never so much as had a kind word to say to me. I was then informed that I would not be allowed to see the doctor. Her reason? because I tossed the papers at the desk. But this is a clear case of Medicaid discrimination.
